I like to mimic accents sometimes because I find them endearing. In update day I got that same vibe from jay's impression, do some people think it came from a mean place? Reminded me of kojima's "did you rike it?" and made me smile tbh... I think that as long as imitating accents doesn't come from a place of malice they're pretty harmless. Even stuff directed at my own accent like "CAN AH GE' UH BO'OW 'O WO'ER?" which comes across as mockery 90% of the time still makes me chuckle because I can't help but find it funny :^)
Yo thanks for making this video! Even if it started as a shitpost that you edited at 5 AM, a couple of years ago this video convinced me to watch the show. I loved it so much that my brothers watched as well and it became one of our favorite shows we've ever watched. Since then we reference the show surprisingly often and have been following Matt Johnson's work (with great excitement!). So this video had a small, but definite, impact on my life.
That never even crossed my mind, I always just thought he was saying "I like it" in a funny way. In fact I thought this was going to answer whether Jay (the character) came up with the song on the spot or had planned it in advance. How is THAT not "the age old update day debate"?
him throwing jay under the bus is so fucking funny. like there's no way he wasn't 100% on board with it at the time considering everything else he personally says in the web series lol
I love that he realizes he’s kinda throwing jay under the bus by correcting the record but does it anyway then protects himself by saying he begged him not to do it. One of the funniest people alive
