The goal here is to determine if combining a solar farm with a large cultivated area might actually help(or hinder) the development of the plants. The main issue faced here is in transmission of moisture when automated irrigation isn't used. Although the day and night temp swings were smoothed out, this didn't make any noticable difference in the sprouts.
I don't understand why someone would do this? Some clear plastic sheeting and pvc pipes and you could make a quick and cheap greenhouse cover to raise soil temperature.
The soil was maintained 5 degrees warmer overnight with the panel, likely due to the insulation of the panel. The question I was trying to answer was whether or not this extra 5 degrees over a few weeks of spring whether would make a significant difference in how quickly the young sprouts developed.
Good info. I did a DIY install of a emp hardened inverter by sol ark with 12kw of panels and about 40kwhr battery in late 2020. I'm upgrading to 2 inverters and 24.5kw in panels this summer. You can harden your non emp hardened system by researching the emp guidelines by cisa if you search on google as they have recommendations on type 61 ferrite core suppressors, surge protective devices (like emp shield) and general hardening of building materials and faraday shielding and UPS systems. Inverters and batteries become UPS systems effectively. However sol ark is the only inverter company I'm aware of to test their hardened system to beyond us mil spec in the same testing lab the military uses. I believe it is 150kv/m. This is usually an additional fee of about $1500 or so through the distributor. Unfortunately the us power grids are not hardened against cme or emp.

It's a modified Segway Ninebot. I like the one wheel too, but my neighbor had an accident after one too many. Ninebot limits you to less than 12mph.(which can be lifesaving)

I am in georgia, have a 2 ton 17 seer hvac and it take about 10kwh a day to run hvac during the summer. During the winter forget about it. Its 3kw an hour, every hour.
Yep, I have 20 SEER systems here but I only run them 12 hours a day for my business. If your residential, I recommend a 1 ton 20 SEER in a 500 sq ft. Insulated area to get you through the night with a diesel heater for cloudy days.

Yes, I've built and tested several systems in 1kW to 5kW configurations over the last two years in order to get the winery running off solar. Those are Okeelney I got on Amazon for $50. They've been good so far. I charge the battery with a 25W solar panel and 4 diodes. I break most tools within 30 days(I have a lot of pruning to do).
No one wants to believe me that super uber fast charging is not good. "but it charges in like 45min" "And in a year it'll charge in 15min becuase it only has 30% of the capacity it does now" *plugs in to 100w charger*
