I've always liked RPG music. They make us dream, they make us sad or exalt us. Sometimes they are real masterpieces that turn us upside down. I like to play music. So making remakes of these musics is a real pleasure for me. These reorchestrations are sometimes close to the original, sometimes very different. I hope you'll like them ^^
Thanks a lot :) In general, my versions are more traditional in terms of style, although I often add small or large modifications (depending on my vision) or even different intros. If you want some examples, listen to my version of the Prelude (crystal theme) from FF7 or my versions of songs from FF9, or my version of Dancing Mad from FF6, or even my Star of Darkness (Secret of Mana) version, which has an organ part.
@TheologyVGM And regarding my previous message, I'm attaching direct links to 2 musics in exemple of what i said: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sbhmi235H8o.html (Prelude (crystal theme) from FF7) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N_e-Wrl0zcc.html (A Place to Call Home (Atmospheric and organs version) from FF9)
The best (and realist) character in any Final Fantasy. Imperfect, Flawed, in nearly every sense. Not always a good person (at times a terrible person). But real and relatable. They could literally make him the hero of his own spinoff and I would be tearing down the doors to get it. I just truly hope they dont mess him up in the remake. He is the one character that if they mess up, may ruin the remakes for me. Noone is as perfect as the characters in many of these games. We are between good and bad. This is us.
This part in Dancing Mad is my most favorite in the entire piece, like it's the calm right before you're thrown back into the whirling storm of madness
need to be honest, but the mana franchise has one of the greatest osts that i have ever heard, i have heard thousands of soundtracks, and many of them are really good. but there's something about mana that i dunno, it just kinda hit different. spirit of the night as an example, it just hit me different. but regardless all of that, great job.
It's been a while since this was posted, but this came up in recommended and I'm blown away. I love how you kept the feeling of loneliness and desolation from the original piece in here, but made something really fresh sounding. I love it!
Thank you very much! I tried to keep the feeling of loneliness and desolation from the original piece, with my own vision. I'm really glad you liked it ☺️
The feels... Rachel never fails to make me feel emotional and cry every time I remember her tragic story, or even when I hear her theme. This remix definitely succeeds in capturing the emotional feel that the original did for me, nicely done.
Recorded a little too loud, you have access to a limiter? Set it at -1db... there was some peak distortion in there.... but even still love the song. And absolutely love this game!
@@michaelhope8442 I actually dropped by here cause I got done producing a track yesterday that gave me some serious Crono Trigger vibes so I started digging out of curiosity. Check it out if ya have time please :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eUT4TRGipdE.html
Oh hey, new upload. Noice. Really love the voice of the singer - props to her. As for the rest of the piece, I think the horns can do with being more prominent. They're being pretty drowned out by the strings as it stands. To a lesser extend, this also applies to the basses.
Hey Nailik! I'm glad to hear from you :) Thank you :) You're right, Elena has a beautiful voice and it was a pleasure to collaborate with her. About the horns, I'll make a try :)
@@michaelhope8442 For future reference: Brass is generally the loudest part of the orchestra, woodwinds the quietest. There are exceptions, and it also depends on the instrument's register, but when arranging, this is a good guide to follow. Hope it helps. :D
I've been enjoying your work for a while...but I have to say that this orchestration is just sublime and filled with emotion. I really love this piece. And congratulations to the singer who has such a sweet voice. Keep making us feel good. 😘👏👏👍
This song can both invoke a feeling of warmth and happiness, while also bringing such a sad and mysterious sound to it at the same time. I cry a ton when listening to this, but at the same time I smile and it feels so odd yet so amazing.
Said I would give my thoughts on your new upload, so let's go. I liked the subtle delay effect on the bell synth, but felt the pad could've used a more drastic panning. Besides that, I don't much else to say.
Thank you very much for your comment, Nailik, and for sharing with me your thoughts. I appreciate! I'm glad you liked the bell :) About the panning, do you think i should position the pad more to the left, and the strings more to the right?
@@michaelhope8442 The strings are fine where they are. Try panning the higher notes of the pad to the left and the lower ones more to the right. Alternatively, you could try duplicating the pad, pitch-shifting it down an octave, transpose the notes up an octave, then panning it. If it works like I think it will, it'll give the pad a thicker sound. As a second alternative, you can try slapping a chorus effect on it. ...That's probably the better way to do it, really. lol
Right, so. The intro sounded nice, but the transition from that to the main melody (0:15 - 0:16 ) is missing the ritardando, making it sound jumpy. It's a small section, but it stands out. You should also try adding some dynamic movement in the strings, which for sustained notes you can simulate by automating the volume levels. (Should be CC7, regardless of what DAW you're using.) Just a little bit of that can help adding realism when you don't have recorded dynamics to work with. Lastly, it sound like you're using a soundfont or stock DAW samples? I don't think they sound very good. I suggest looking for some free VSTs (though you'll need to give the devs your email) Alternatively, you can try and see if you can find Edirol Orchestral. If that's a dead end, (which it might be, I believe Edirol was discontinued) you can try Sonatina Symphonic, which sounds pretty decent. Any gaps in your template, the OmegaGMGS2 and General User soundfonts. I've used them for years, so I can vouch for them. Hope this helped!
Hey! Thank you for your comment :) I absolutely agree about the ritardando and, in fact, with all your words. In fact, this is not my most recent track. My most recent work aren't published (except Sadness and Sorrow). But I should add a ritardando and some dynamic movements (I obviously confess that I'm not as advanced as you and I have to improve my skills). Thank you for all what you said and suggested. It's helpful :)
@@michaelhope8442 Based. I'll keep an eye out for your next upload, and will share my thoughts when I get to it. Until then, I'll leave you with some more pointers. Note humanization. Which is to say, keeping them off the grid. Even the best players can't play _exactly_ on-beat, so to simulate that, try moving notes a bit in-front of, or behind it. Not too much, or it'll sound sloppy. Just a few milliseconds will do. Your DAW might have a function that'll take care of this in just a click or two, so have a look around for that. And lastly: Keep at it! :D
Thank you for your message and for your suggestion. Man on the Internet already work with great remixers/composers (like Malcolm Robinson and others). I think he doesn't need a new one. But thank you very much :)
