Thank you for sharing. The footage looks great without any color grading. Now all I have to do is save up some money for this or hope Santa Claus will give me a big surprise this year!😂
Thanks. That video caused me to stop participation in the DJI official forums after concerns there that I had used an image of a young woman as a thumbnail. Oh well.
@@avicreates Not a ban but I walked away from the insults and hostility. And I haven't looked back! Too much forum interaction can waste too much time.
@@Ozpeter well keep it up on RU-vid, but don't be afraid to put your face on your thumbnail. Own your creativity, I know it's tuff to get the initial clicks! you translate well on camera, keep it up!
Will we ever be able to make a photo with just a piece of paper? But before cameras who would have thought a photographic image could be printed on paper! 👍
Hello Peter and thank you for this video. I'm currently trying to connect a Sony PCM-D100 - but I guess that would be the same for any portable recorder from zoom / tascam - to capture stereo sound via both mics of the D100 connected to the OP3. I'm considering some option as using the RODE AI mic or even 2 DJI mic 2 receiver with a jack splitter cable. (I saw your video in a thread on the dji forum where I recap all my option so I thought I would write you here directly 🤓) Thanks !
Using a audio device such as the M2 which has USB-C audio output going direct into the Pocket 3 input is a neat way of doing it - I don't think the D100 can do it - but as you say, you could do it with a compatible adapter (analog to USB-C) and suitable cabling.
Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much for for making this video! I found your video while looking for a microphone for my Osmo Action 4 to record nature sounds while cycling. I'd probably mount the mic on my back to eliminate some of the noises. Do you think that would work? I'm concerned mainly about the breathing and handling noises and a bit about wind noise. Or, would you recommend some of the other mics you tested instead?
Interesting challenge, recording while cycling with no wind noise and no handling noise... Wind noise should be addressable with a suitable "dead cat" if necessary. Handling noise... that will depend so much on exactly how you mount the mic. Frankly, it would be a matter of testing and ingenuity. Chief thing is that you clearly know the problems and that's always a good start when looking for solutions! Thanks for watching, sorry I can't be much help with your questions. (My gear is currently 50km away so I can't do any practical tests).
The good news is that I'm now 75 and still alive and scooting! My wife said that at 50 I was too old for a motorbike... but so far the scooter hasn't been banned.
The Pocket 1 was considered by many to provide better picture quality overall than the Pocket 2. Personally I never compared them enough to have an opinion. But I think you got a bargain you will be happy with!
Thanks for this Peter! However, in Marcel's video, the noise looks to be at ~23kHz, 30kHz and 36kHz. Here the spectrogram cuts off at 22kHz. The frequency analyzer goes up to 24 though, and it doesn't show noise, which is promising! Curious if you've tried 192kHz recordings to rule out ultrasonic noise?

One of the best sample video of Zoom M3 MicTrak. Thank you!
Cheers!. I just used some random clips that happened to be stored on my PC, which was actually being used via Chrome Remote Desktop running on a Chromebook 50km away!
Do you preset your exposure and other settings for each location Peter? Video quality is looking great out of the OP3. My next purchase after I sell a 12 year collection of DSLR equipment. : )
As memory serves me I used full auto, normal color, and -0.3 EV - in other words I did it the easy way! Good luck with your transition to the new system.
Yes, Pocket 3, which followed me in the opening shot. 38C here today forecast, similar for the next couple of days too. I think I will come to Cornwall!
A very insightful vision of the City! So muc h to do there. Our favourite is the restaurant/foodie vibe though, something thats quite unique to Melbourne. Such a great atmosphere at night.
This skips the important external mic options. The key advantage of an external mic is you can put a wind muff on it. Digital wind noise reduction is audibly terrible when there is wind.
Indeed, the external mic options are a very large subject in itself. (Themselves?). I've covered some of them in other videos. I agree that wind noise reduction is best avoided if possible, but the DJI system is the best I've heard when I've had to use it.
I hope that Google executives are subscribers to you channel. Personally, I think we are going to see so much mis-information spread across the world due to AI. As if we need even more false information out there. God helps us all!
Well, I doubt whether they will see it themselves, but I just faintly hoped my little video might be seen by someone who knows someone who knows someone. I also hope to win the lottery... that one question and response really encapsulated so much that's wrong, generally and specifically. Thanks for watching and commenting!
How did you get the ambeo to actually turn on and record? I've tried two different lightning to USB-C adaptors, both audio only, and the light won't turn red on the ambeo. The microphone icon on the action 4 appears, so an external mic is connected. It just won't record sound.
Have you looked at the CPU clock speed in Bios. If so what is it set at? I know it wont be at the maximum speed but I would like to know what they have set as there default speed.
Thanks Peter for this video, I have done the same (only the 2 principal updates) in French just yesterday evening on my channel! :) This camera is just incredible !! Cheers from France! Michael
It's just a Canva thumbnail generator download - watermarked even - the young woman created the original herself for public use. Hardly worth a comment, but I'm sorry if it somehow offends you. There's not many on the Canva site which feature "old men" for some reason... [Hey Ash, I've just realised it's you! Well, I won't add the bit about ageism I was going to say...😁]
@@Ozpeter come on buddy, you can't blame a thumbnail generator for your video using a young girl as click-bait, it'll hinder progression of your channel as viewers just won't click. Sorry Peter, I had to be honest here.
@@BeingSwenglish I would judge the age of the young woman ("girl" - really??) to be comfortably into her twenties, having revisited the original artwork. Possibly older than the young woman in your thumbnail for the rollercoaster video. And viewers will click - since I joined in with the rest of the world in using DIY thumbnails rather than RU-vid-suggested thumbnails (with my tongue somewhat in my cheek), out of the most recent ten videos on my channel, the three most viewed have featured women on the thumbnail. The 4th and 5th featured men (one of which was me). Meanwhile, many parents would be aghast at the content of your channel and of the thumbnails, so you might care to think twice before making these kinds of comments on others' channels.
@@Ozpeter and what's even worse is that you even state that your most popular videos "feature women on the thumbnail", talk about sexualising RU-vid...it's gross buddy. Focus on good content and you won't need to use photos of young women (a third of your age) to boost your views...
@@BeingSwenglish Groan... You said that if I use thumbnails featuring young girls (as you describe them, I wouldn't) then people will not watch the videos. I pointed out that there is no evidence to support that advice you kindly offered. How you get from that to suggesting that I am sexualisating you tube mystifies me. But you've certainly given me a great topic for my next video, which will feature a similar style of thumbnail with the words "Creepy Clickbait by old man?" featured in it, and I will open up the debate for discussion by the few who might give a damn. But I will refer to you as "someone" rather than personalising the issue. Thanks for the inspiration!
I haven't taken the plunge with the new Pocket 3 yet, as I was waiting for any wrinkles to be ironed out. But mostly, I'm waiting to see how that flippy screen survives after a few months of use.
Generally, it seems that the screen problems relate to dragging on the screen when removing the camera from the DJI case. I've posted a video about an alternative case - in fact, maybe more than one video - and that might ensure no problems. But the proportion of those with the problem must be tiny compared with sales. You'd be more likely to be struck by lightning on the way to the camera shop. Well, of course in Cornwall, maybe twice as likely.... :)
I understand, but as I have bought the pocket 3 for several weeks now, I wonder how they use their camera to have this problem :) Pocket 3 is the best camera ever made for me, I waited that for years, it's the first camera that made me want to make videos, so much so that I created my own RU-vid channel a month ago, where I post at least one video a week. You can check it out, it's impressive. :) Hello from France.
I will have to try that. It may depend on the manufacturer of of the filter, because some are thinner than others. When I have tested I will reply again.
Well, it's supposed to be an action camera but you have to be really careful how it is mounted. The lenses protrude and scratch easily, so you wouldn't want them to hit anything or for the camera to fall off.
