I grew up in Mesquite, and never left until I was around 45 or so. Sweet memories of my life there. My dad used to take us to Mesquite Barbecue when we lived a few blocks from there, near Florence Black Elementary, from 1962 through 1967. He would order a chopped sandwich and chocolate milk for me. It was so good. I am 66 years old now, but I remember clearly they had chairs with small one armed tables attached where we would sit and dine inside the restaurant. Not sure if that's the case now, but that made it unique in my memory. It's so good to see it's still there and thriving.
