Thank you 😊. Suffice it to say everything changed and I think only three of my planned makes, with the planned fabric actually got made. The other fabrics have either been made into something else or are still in my stash😅. I think I'd better do a round up of makes soon 😂 😘
@sewonsister thank you so much. I felt that, having said I'd be joining the challenge, the least I could do was to follow the guidelines. And then of course, I had a pile of cut up jeans, which I was itching to make into something. I'm glad you liked them 😊
Fabulous job on your makes! I like both fabrics, the first is more Bohemian and I would like to see it against the Rust linen, the second looks good with the ecru fabric and is more classic. I think it just depends on what type of vibe you're wanting to acheive . I can't wait to see what you make. I enjoy your channel very much!!
@lisaniles1951 thank you so much. Another person has suggested making a rust linen top to go with fabric number one too 😃. I've checked and they do look lovely together, so now I've got even more options 😀 😘
Just found your channel. You are just hilarious 😂. Brilliant vlog. You are so natural infront of your camera with no annoying erms every few words. I've subbed within watching the first 3 or 4 mins 😊
@bevtooth my goodness, you are so kind to take the time to write such a lovely comment, it really does mean a lot to me. I love making the videos and I'm so glad you enjoyed this one. Thank you for subscribing 😘
The bum bag turned out well! The floral cord "toile" is a wonderful bonus, but the jeans skirt is really cute, Kay. I'd be tickled about that, too. I look for seeing what you do with the Ploen Tyra trousers. I would be happier with fabric B, but both will be nice, just very different. Glad you horned in on the Busy Bees challenges. You are a joy. - Kelly
@Kakkydidit thank you so much Kelly. I'm still amazed at that denim skirt 😄. I've now cut the fabric for the Ploens, so the fabric is decided.....or is it🤔😁. I'm loving this challenge, it's got my sewjo up and running 😘
@The_Gemini_Stitcher thank you, it's a bit dull next to your glorious Tula Pink bag 🥰, but hopefullyits just as useful😁. And thank you so much for running the challenge, I'm having such a great time 😘
@SistasofStitchcraft thank you so much. I'm really pleased with them. I was a big worried as Prima patterns can be a bit hit and miss, but this one was a hit! 😁🥰😘
@@SistasofStitchcraft thank you so much, I was quite surprised at how well the skirts came out, especially the denim one! Sometimes, a plan does come together 😄😘😘
Love your new makes! Your baby cord skirt is gorgeous! I absolutely love your videos. I never use the suggested layout for cutting the fabric for a pattern. I lay them out myself, and it generally works out that I don't use as much fabric as is called for. As long as you're mindful of the directional arrows, it works out just fine. I would probably use fabric 1 for the palazzo pants. It's a fun print for a fun trip. 😁 You could use the rust linen to make a skirt or a pair of capri pants to go with your original choice of fabric for the blouse. Just a thought. 🤷♀️ Happy sewing!
@sherrysmith3045 thank you so much, I'm really happy with the baby cord skirt, it's just what I wanted when I saw the fabric 😀. I'm going to make the palazzo pants out of my 2.5m fabric first, to see how much I can shorten them by, before playing with the linen. But I think the idea of a cropped pair or a pair of capri pants is very appealing, thank you 😘
@michelleblount1336 thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it, I have great fun doing the filming 😁😁😁. A cropped pair of Tyras is a very good idea, but I might then make into Pietras, as I've made loads of them and I love them 😘
Hi Kay, first time viewer here. You lifted my spirits this morning with your wit and breezy attitude! Lovely. I would actually use the rust linen you originally purchased for the pants, for a top to go with the colorful fabric. I have the same fabric and am also planning a pair of palazzo pants. I'm sure somewhere in there is some rust color. For the blue fabric I'm making a jumpsuit. Looking forward to returning for more of your vlogs.
@ritaadler-everett5392 hello, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for taking the time to make such a lovely comment 😊. Another lady suggested making a top with the rust linen if I can't get the trousers out of it. I'm definitely considering making a nice shirt as Plan B as it's such a good idea, and I've just checked and you are right, there is a matching rust in fabric number one! Wow, a jumpsuit would look amazing, please let me know how you get on 😘

I get the tyras long trousers from 2 metres. The legs are quite long - I reduced the length of the pattern before I cut them out. I think the bronze squares for the trousers if you can’t fit the pattern on the coral fabric
Two great makes - I’m very impressed! I’ve made loads of the Tyra trousers, love them! I make the front waistband flat, like the tilly and the buttons safiya trousers
@ruthwilson6524 hi Ruth, thank you so much, I have to say I quite surprised myself with the denim skirt! I think I'll make a pair with the elastic first, then I can play with a flat waistband on the next pair. That's really useful advice, thank you 😘
Hello! New here Think you can probably get the tyra trousers out of your rust fabric as it doesnt have a directional print....just play with the pattern pieces a bit? Both your Palazzo fabrics are lovely!
@debsmadethis hello 👋. Welcome and thank you for the good idea about direction 😊. I've decided (after lots of brilliant suggestions) that I'm going to iron the linen, then measure the pattern pieces and shorten if necessary as I'm only 5'3", then I'll have a play every which way to see if I can get them out of 2m. Others have suggested I should be able to! I do love those other fabrics...what's the betting I end up with 3 Tyras 🤣🤣🤣😘😘😘
@@pinkderdlesews I'm sure you will. I'm 5 ft 5 (and mostly legs) and I can get most trousers out of less than 1.8 m 😁 unless very narrow ! Bon chance 😘
Definitely the second fabric (navy) for the palazzo pants. It will look fabulous with the plain top. I think the other one is too busy and would lend itself much better to a floaty dress or skirt. Good luck.
Love your vlogs, they always make me smile. Your skirts are both amazing, love the idea of using old jeans to make a skirt. The panel fabric would look lovely as Palazzo pants, could you use the rust to make the top if you can’t get the pants out of it
@angelalysandrou4830 thank you, I'm glad I make you smile as they make me smile while I'm recording! I'm still amazed my skirt turned out so well and I'm definitely going to use jeans again for something 😁. I'd not thought of using the rust linen for a top, but there is enough for an All in Shirt! I've had lots of brilliant suggestions for getting the Tyras out of the rust linen, so I'll give that a go, but a shirt is now my Plan B . Thank you 😘
LOL with the pointing with the nose on the skirt😂😂. Very clever upcycling- definitely the way to go. Fabric 1 for the pallazos gets my vote although both are good. Happy Sewing and dog walking with your fab new bag😊. Lynne
@SewMyTime Hi Lynne, thank you for you lovely comment. I ran out of hands to point with! I'm definitely going to go back to the pile of jeans scraps and see what else I can make, as I was really pleased with my skirt. And the dogs seem happy with the bag as it holds more treats 😁😁😁😘😘
@Lisa-um8jx thank you so much. I'm really pleased with it. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to make a button front skirt and then along came the pattern! 😘
The jeans skirt is a real winner! Terrific pattern. I get such a kick from your videos. I’ve said it before; you are a hoot! I choose fabric two for the palazzo pants.
@tanathurgaland6708 hi thank you so much 💗. I was really pleased how the skirt turned out, especially after the huge shorts from a Prima pattern. Your vote has been noted, thank you 😘😘
I think both patterns would make good palazzo pants. The multi colour would just be more boho and the leaf one would be more sophisticated. So I would do whichever vibe you are going for.
@cherrybrook140861 oh thank you Debs, that's so kind. Well I'll definitely make more then. I'm just sorting out some photos, ready for my makes video. Hope you like it 😘😘😘
Great makes. Try the rust first, if you flip one leg piece and nest the tops of the trousers alongside each other you can probably fit it on, with a plain fabric the legs don't need to be in the same direction. If not vote for fabric two, good luck
I agree non directional so one leg pattern won’t need go one below the other. Also I find it fit a lot on my fabric if I fold over the savage to wards middle of fabric just enough for the width of the pattern piece then refold for other piece on opposite side and nest it between. I can generally get wide leg trousers (and I’m using large pattern sizes) out of 2m with spare. I think your doggy walks bag is brilliant really looks smart and hand sewing is couture 😜. For the skirts I love both and think you used the jeans to the best effect and looks designed rather than pieced out of parts. I love your videos they have me giggling along with you ❤
@kirstypemmapaterson3777 Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my denim skirt and brilliant suggestions on the rust fabric. I will definitely try that as I don't want to give up on it! I'm also going to be telling everyone that my doggy bag is made with couture techniques 😁😘
I love your skirts, the denim one is an absolute triumph! Well done! As for the next challenge, would your original rust/coral fabric work with the first option for the palazzo pants? If not I think the ecru fabric with the second fabric option. Hope that makes sense.
@vanessajackson5595 thank you Vanessa, I'm really pleased with my denim skirt....so pleased that I can hardly believe that it was made by me 😆😁. I'm going to iron that linen fabric tomorrow and start playing pattern tetris , I might just get the culottes out of it 🤞😘
Your are too funny! Love the bum bag, totally understand everything you need while walking the dog/dogs. The skirt is great, glad you went ahead with it.
@jennetthamilton971 thank you so much, I can't believe how much stuff I have to cart about just to take two mini dachshunds for a stroll round the block! I'm so pleased with the skirt, can't quite believe I actually made it 😅 😘
I never follow the lay plans the patterns give, I think they waste too much fabric. I would try all ways to get as much out of the fabric as possible. Love the skirts and the bag
@judychandler5822 thank you, I'm so pleased with my makes and loving this challenge 😍. I've had some brilliant suggestions from so many lovely people about how to get my trousers out of my 2 metres! Tomorrow I'm ironing the fabric and I'm going to be playing pattern tetris until I win 😁😘
I’m wondering if you could fold the original fabric lengthwise with the selvedges into the centre and turn one pants piece upside down, is there a chance you might squeeze the pants out then? You’d probably have to join the waistband piece too. Or am I just being a smart ar*e?? 🤨Love the first of the other two fabrics!!
@chrisorchin7955 oh my goodness, that's an idea!!!! And it would use up two stash fabrics. Genius🤩. I think I'll do whichever fabric comes out top in the votes first, then the shirt, then the second fabric if I get time before ghe Reveal on 26th September. Thank you so much 😘
Hi Kay! Lovely vlog as always. If someone didn’t liked the fabric, big chance they like it after seeing your enthusiasm 😃 I didn’t get the chance to think about what to make because my daughters already requested dresses. I’ll squeeze something for myself out of the 1 meter again 😂
@susanneo8674 hi Susanne, thank you, that's very kind. I think that fabric will be gorgeous as two little dresses. You'll have to open your boxes in secret in future 😅
Your jacket looks great and good to hear your transformation plans. I made a denim jacket from old jeans and absolutely love it but it was time consuming.
@jennetthamilton971 thank you so much for making the time to comment ❤️. After a lot of dithering about plans and patterns, I think I know what I'm doing with both fabrics....which is unheard of for me 😁🥰😘
@stacypickett2501 thank you so much 🥰. I absolutely love my boxes and it's like Christmas every month. I adore the fabric and now I've had time to think, I might make some lovely summer pyjamas or a nice light robe 😍😘
@suebrown5500 hi Sue, thank you very much. I'm glad I make you smile, ghere should definitely be more smiling in our days 😊. I think it might be pyjamas....🤔😘
