Dude, I am so glad that all of my money that goes to taxes goes to my W-2 Form biweekly, and that I could set that amount for a percentage, at least for my federal taxes. State taxes are their own thing...
wtf is that rainbow company bro, . i don't think i'll hear anymore f*cked up sh*t from them, but yet, here we are again, . that just straigth up criminal
_"It's a choice to let your employer handle your taxes."_ Where i live that's the fucking standard. In fact, you have to make a special application if you don't want that automatically deducted. When i was a kid and had a summer temp job i applied for no tax deduction (since i wouldn't make enough money in a year to be tax eligible) but even if i hadn't done that the tax services would know by the end of the year that i had overpayed and i would get a tax return. That's also handled automatically unless you need to apply for special exemptions and whatnot. I have to wonder what on earth "their" tax was. Like an employer's tax? But that should be payed with _their_ money! _My_ income pays for _my income tax._ Am i missing something? This just sounds like straight up theft.
this clip clearly is not posted in good faith based on the comments and description, despite michi's wishes at the beginning... are you guys not tired yet...
It is posted in the best of faith. Both current and prospective future Niji talents need to be aware of how the company operates. I understand Michi requested that we not speculate on anything, but it's basically impossible to not do so when she goes on to make the comments that she does. Note that this clip is almost entirely unedited (I cut out a part where she talks about her mods banning someone and if I were to post this again I'd also cut out parts where she talks about hype trains and stuff). I'm not taking anything she says out of context with this clip.
@@MurrayShinaide it's STILL in bad faith if you post something against the wishes of the liver and allow such out of hand speculation happening in your comments and description. plus, prospective talents can go to watch the vod. you're looking for views and pretending like you're spreading awareness... that's the ONLY thing i can determine from what i've seen. plus, how many other livers have talked about the company fucking up their taxes? more than i can count on two hands. those clips exist every where. how are you not tired of all of this?
@@fon420 Can you find anywhere where Michi has said she didn't want this clipped? "Don't speculate" and "don't clip" are not the same thing. And expecting prospective talents to be able to watch every VOD by every former (or current) member is ridiculous. I have no idea what you're talking about with regards to other livers - there's only been one who has talked about tax troubles that I'm aware of and there's not yet evidence that his issues were related to something Niji did. As for wanting views, well, yes, naturally, but I don't get how wanting views means I don't also want to spread awareness - the two are not incompatible and in fact are closely related. As for being tired… yes, I'm very tired of Niji's management antics. Nothing would please me more than for Nijisanji to turn themselves around and be a company that does right by their talents. But that's not happening, at least not yet, and what good does it do for anyone if I were to sit here and ignore the things they do? Edit: As for speculation in the comments, I don't have the power to moderate what people in the comments say, and even if I did I don't have the time to do it given how this clip has blown up and prompted thousands of them.
@@MurrayShinaide ohhh, so you’re using semantics to cover yourself. also, you, in your own description, say you’re not a michi viewer. where do you get off telling me you know what she wants more than anyone else who actually watches her? you KNOW what she meant, you know how disgusted she would feel seeing this clip, description, and comment section? you do NOT care about talents !! you just care about shitting on niji. you blatantly ignore the wishes of a talent by posting a video of YOU speculating and encouraging the comments to do so with this action. also i never once said this isn’t to be clipped, i said you clipped this in bad faith and this shouldn’t have been posted. context matters. that last paragraph is just you waffling about trying to morally grandstand. i hate niji and how they treat their talents, but at least i don’t expose their current and former talents to more harm by farming views from antis.
@@fon420 All right, well, I don't know what you want from me. I guess if you continue to incorrectly assume I'm acting in bad faith then nothing that I do really matters.
10%? Girl individual Indonesian freelance taxes are 50% + income tax after the 50% cut. 🤦♂️ If you establish an individual LLC it’s 0.5% for the first 7 years and then its reduced income tax rates…
So basically her income as a vtuber was also being deducted by Japanese taxes and they never bothered to clear that up? Wow The company should have stated in the contract that the liver should be responsible for their own local taxes. I guess Kuro was in the same predicament 😅
i assume michi is a very careful person so how could the situation even happened? is it possible to be very careful and yet miss paying two years worth of tax without any notice? i dont get taxes but damn i wonder how bad is the communication for her to be fucked up so badly to the point of risking her health. if i were her i dont think i could survive that.
I was watching memes before I watched this I need more memes momi im scared Im 9mins in watching this, seeing that its 24min long just drained my colours
Murray discovered the secret to getting monetized. Post crap related to Nijisanji shooting themselves in the foot. Consider having an auto-play video on your channel introduccing yourself and saying what you do.
I always wondered how myata taxes were so screwed up..... this makes sense. Them screwing their talents taxes forcing them to leave. Funny how they dont try that crap with North american talents
It sounds like the company did something wrong, but then, Indonesia doesn't have a 10% tax bracket. I'm wondering if the taxes she owed was just the leftover 5% the company didn't withhold? Anyone know how this stuff works in Indonesia? This is just me trying to make it make sense, not like, this is definitely what happened guys.
Moral of the story, dont trust anyone, always ask for tax receipts and go to your region's tax consultants the moment you start working. Get all the needed papers or letter of statements
Hey, you know what's wonderful about being a branch in a company. You're parent company is still responsible for your fuck ups! Meaning that the heads of Nijisanji are also now guilty of tax evasion in Indonesia! And for defrauding someone that was formally in thier employ of a substantial amount of money! So now not only are they a black company, but they are literal criminals.
If I had a nickel for every time a certain company screwed over a talent when it came to taxes that's come to light since they joined VShojo, I'd have two nickels, which is sad because it's only become public twice, but I bet it's happening a whole lot more.
Michi seems to be unaware that she had Japanese income taxes to pay, how the Tax Treaty between Japan and Indonesia handles double taxation, and the need to provide proof of tax withhold from her employer when filing her tax return form. Japan has an income tax on any Japan-sourced income, even for non-residents, which means Michi had taxes to pay in Japan. The money Nijisanji took looks to have been used to pay the taxes she owns to the Japanese government, and the indication that it is the case is that Michi did not get in trouble with the Japanese government so far. And, if she is unaware that this tax exists, then she may have mistaken her Japanese taxes as Nijisanji's taxes, thinking something like "why is my money being spent on Japanese taxes?!" The Tax Treaty between Japan and Indonesia says that an income tax paid under Japanese law by a Japanese employer to an Indonesian employee counts towards tax credit in Indonesia. It doesn't seem to go the other way around, so, in order to avoid double taxation on Michi, Nijisanji had to pay her Japanese income tax specifically, not her Indonesian tax. If Nijisanji had done the other way around, she would be in trouble with the Japanese government instead, and with no right to contest the double taxation. The Indonesian government also requires an additional form (Form 1721-A1) to be sent as proof that her income tax was withheld by her employer when filing her tax return form, which she needs to request from her employer. From what she said, it doesn't look like she did in the first fiscal year, or she would have found out about Japanese taxes by then, not in the second year. Michi looks to have been double taxed due to not have sent that 1721-A1 form, and should contact the Indonesian authorities to address it without delay. The Tax Treaty says that there is a 3-year period in which a case of double taxation can be contested and, depending on how they interpret, it seems that she has already been double taxed for about two years by now. If she delays it, she may lose the right to contest it and permanently lose the tax credit she is owned for by the Tax Treaty.
