YOUR TARANTELLA RECORDING IS VERY NICE. I WANT TO PRACTICE THAT PIECE AND ADD IT TO MY REPERTOIRE. WHERE CAN I GET A COPY OF TARANTELLA FOR FLUTE AND PIANO by TSYBIN? PLEASE POST ON YOUR WEB SITE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. EDWIN, LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, USA
This is an interesting topic. I'm currently building 2 high-performance houses in South Carolina. A Russian Banya is part of the mission. I look at it like building a pool house in the back. Russian style. Keep up the good work 👍
Very interesting and informative! But a small a point of criticism remains: Trying to put Stone Dreams in a broader and contemporary political context, Thomas de Waal explains a lot about Russia's influence and analyses it precisely. But since he even calls Karabakh War 2020 "kind of reconquest", this seems kind of biased to me, what becomes obvious considering the role of Turkey, Turanism and the "Bir millet, iki devlet" ideology, which are crucial for a profound understanding of the conflict between Armenian and Azerbaijan as well as the historical background of Stone Dreams, the Karabakh Wars and coincidences between.
As an American, I was awe in the different approach this Russian director took. It was a constant theme of betrayal versus honesty; and as a film lover of all genres, found it fascinating and a gateway into Russian and Eastern European culture and thinking.
A mere ‘thank you’ is too trite a comment but nevetheless I offer my appreciation for this wonderful lecture. May I sugges for further reading the sections viz Mandelstam: “The Complection of Russian Literature” a cento compiled by Andrew Field (1970). Publ. Atheneum. Miss jenny
Hmmm - I will stick to my thirty books written & massively researched by the American ex cavalry officer David M. Glantz who had no political axe to grind.
Quite simply, one of the best YT videos I have ever seen and heard. Learned, and also exquisitely beautiful. Thank you, and congratulations on this achievement.
No ja was zacząłem słuchać chociaż jestem bardziej na lewicy bo jesteście jednym z niewielu miejsc, gdzie krytykuje się ukraiński faszyzm i amerykański imperializm.
Beevor's a hack. His estimation of the US contribution to winning the war is bizarre, AND he's an open borders 2023 IDIOT. What a disappointment as a 'esteemed historian.'
Had the US (and the WEST) NOT sent FOOD they would have not been able to feed that Army of millions. Without Ford, Dodge, and Willy's truck they couldn't have supplied those millions. I do not deny the regular Soviet soldier any honor, other than they raped hundreds of thousands. Not all of them did it. Just read SIR Beevor's books. It took help for Russia to break up the German Heer. Heer means army in German. The Wehrmacht means the German defense/war group including the Heer(or army). English speakers deny to follow those facts. I jave learned so much from the German Diaries released, at least in terms of their thoughts about hitler, and other leaders. They are fascinating.
AFTER VIEWING THE ENTIRE LIST OF EQUIPMENT/MATERIELE SENT TO RUSSIA BY AMERICA/BRITAIN, EVEN THE FRENCH, TO KEEP THEM FIGHTING THE GERMANS, HOW COULD PUTIN OR ANY RUSSIAN SAY THE WAR WAS WON BY THEIR POWER.
What is the horrorfying fact about all of this…. there will be more… we will soon reach a population of 10 mrds on earth… and e 3rd World war will cost milliards of victims… it seems that we don‘t have a serious answer to solve the problem of over population… and the rich countries are still concerned to have the whole ressources for them selves…. a really bad future
Excellent. I have read Sharafutdinova's book, "The Red Mirror" and really enjoyed it, especially the idea of forced regression back to Soviet values and perceptions!
A lot of nuggets here to digest and good ones and even though one cannot expect everything to be noted it is a shame there was no mention of Stalin's move to sign the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact 'voila' World War II. The reds intentionally delayed invading Poland from the east until 17th September as Khruschev cynically but correctly noted, since the Germans had first invaded on 1st September, '...the Germans will be blamed for starting the war..." Also no mention of the move by Stalin in seizing No. Bukovina (Romania) where a rail line was direct to Ploesti as well as the laundry list of outrageous demands Molotov handed over to Ribbentrop and Hitler on his (Molotov's) visit to Berlin November 1940 as the switch that began to move Germany to look east as their real threat. No Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact no war.
You obviously didn‘t follow Social Media in Russia over the last years. She was extremely influential as an intellectual in shaping public opinion. But Mordor is not easily defeated of course.
Just to let you know: Russia is an open country, if people want leave the country and the regime they can leave, nobody is holding us, more then this i have returned from the UK back home. So there's a significant support of what our president is doing inside Russia, we are totally aware that the west wants to ruin our country. And all this guys who left Russia and pouring shit on Russia are just traitors and we dont like them, so please dont waste your time and money on them, they are dumb abd useless, they thought Russia will fall that's why they fleed, that shows their stupidity, dont be fooled by them.😂😂
Okay, so her English is limited, but she comes off like a vapid wordsmith without exception. Actually no relevant facts stated, just navel gazing opinions...

Pushkin on the subject, on aug 2 1831: What do you raise an outcry over, national bards? Why do you threaten Russia with Anathema? What stirred you up? The throes of Lithuania? Desist: this is a strife of Slavs among themselves, An old domestic strife, already weighed by fate, An issue not to be resolved by you. Long since among themselves These tribes have been at war; More than once has bent beneath the storm Now their, now our side. Who will prevail in the unequal strife: The haughty Lech, or the trusty Ross? Will the Slavonic streams converge in the Russian sea? Will it dry up? That is the question. Leave us alone: you have not read Those bloody tablets; To you is unintelligible, you is alien This family feud; Mute to you are the Kremlin and Prague Unthinkingly you are beguiled By the valor of a desperate struggle - And you hate us . . . And for what? Reply: is it because On the ruins of blazing Moscow We did not acknowledge the insolent will Of him under whom you quaked? Because we hurled into the abyss The idol heavy-looming over kingdoms, And with our blood redeemed Europe's freedom, honour, and peace? You are menacing in words - just try to be in action! Is then the old thane, resting on his bed, Unfit to raise his bayonet of Ismail? Or is the Russian Tsar's word powerless by now? Or is it new to us to be at odds with Europe? Or has the Russian grown unused to victories? Are there too few of us? Or will, from Perm to Tauris, From frigid crags of Finland to the flaming Colchis, From the shaken Kremlin To stagnant China's walls, Flashing with steely bristle, Not rise the Russian land? Send then to us, oh, bards, Your sons enraged: There's room for them in Russia's fields, 'Mid graves that are not strange to them This one seems close to the original Russian text but you can find other translated versions online by looking up "slanderers of Russia", for example, the 19century "Why rave ye, blabbers..." which the w: page points to
This is all mostly outdated: nationalism, unchallenged monarchy, patriarchy, misogyny, social Darwinism. In an era where the world has to stand united against the climate crisis and loss of biodiversity threatening the survival of humanity this should be passed to the hands of historical scientists.
I like her. A lot. She penetrate into the false 🇷🇺 broard perception, that an elitist personalist ruling is superior to religious royal relaxed meritocracies. The 🇷🇺 model proof itself deadly these days, dayly.
