What are your thoughts about getting rid of the onboarding call altogether? Make them watch a recording of what you were gonna go over anyway. While I like the idea I also feel like getting a little facetime is good for business. For context, we’re mostly a DFY productized service.
I have a chronic “Where at we at with_?” client, and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why his project was moving so incredibly slowly and seemingly impossible to complete. I suspected that his constant bugging could be an issue but this really put things into perspective.
@@gregoryjhickman Had a look at 2 of your other videos on growing an agency and productising services...both bookmarked for going through this evening 👍
I think a lot of creatives are scared to productize services as they think there's no flexibility, since clients often require variables in deliverables. But the variables are so small in comparison to the overall project. This was something that took me a while to understand, but it's such a great move
What’s an a example of adding recurring revenue on the back end? I have a dog care business providing adventure hikes for daycare and in home overnight boarding when owners are out of town.
Great video, Greg. Thanks! Very solid, actionable content, beautifully contextualised and well-argued. Will check out ‘Built to Sell’ as soon as I have a chance.
Hey Greg , really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail and also help you with the overall youtube strategy and growth ! Pls let me know what do you think ?
Greg any insight into income stages as it relates to right time to hire? Im at ~$150k p/a as a freelancer. Would you recommend hiring someone even though it adds pressure to make money, or wait until I've created the income for the new team member (whatever the role)? Likely different for everyone but interested to hear your answer. Thanks 🙏
@@staceyryan2200 150k/yr? When it comes to sales it’s usually the last thing to delegate. The founder can definitely get the business to a 7 figure run rate selling. Possibly an SDR for discovery calls as you’re getting there.
@@gregoryjhickman thanks. Yes 150k/ yr. I was speaking in more general terms, I was more asking if there were income stages to hiring, not specific to sales. SDR?
@@staceyryan2200 Got it. i have a few videos on team if you search my channel. But a great book to read on this is Buy Back Your Time by Dan Martell. Usualy we hire an assistant first. Then we hire and delegate onboarding+support. Then marketing campaigns, then sales. IF you're at 150k/year your effective hourly rate is about $75/hr which means you can afford to pay someone $18.75/hr to delegate tasks that would get you your time back. So you can start now.
@@gregoryjhickman since i already am very familiar with this strategy my biggest takeaway is for others to be aware of it and love that other experts are aware of it and making othiers aware of it as this is just a small snippet of what is possible in leveraging IP but a great Foundation keep up the great work Brother.
Real answer is it probably depends. I'm always an advocate for less is more so phase 2 can definitely get you there before really focusing on 3. Happy to chat and see if we can help.
Depends on the workshop. The one I did today I did a fair amount. I'm not concerned no. 1) the people that only wanted what I thought in the workshop probably don't need the whole workshop. 2) the workshop is one piece of a puzzle that really ties back to the flagship so the people that really want to do it right will be interested in working together to move faster.
Thanks for this video Greg. Can I ask - was there a strategy for pricing between your DFY and DWY? Ie. was there a formula or was it a guesstimate initially and then dialed it in over time.
Great question. The very first time I said I want to make $20k. Sold a few at $1000 and it was too easy to sell, sold a few more at $1500 and the rest at $2000. I did two cohorts of that and slowly started raising the price. Did a lot of testing and the "first" offer was between 7800 and 9800. Now we have offers between $5k-$25k.
