Reports for Guardian Australia and studies law and journalism at UTS. She studied with the School of the New York Times, produced audio at 2SER, was a News Video Editor for Central News, and has worked as a law clerk, and in TV production at the ABC. She has also received the Adele Horin Prize and a Judith Neilson Institute Fellowship, both for the Guardian Australia.
So, who is Travis?
Researches regional and rural media at the UTS Centre for Media Transition, and studies journalism, social and political sciences and creative intelligence and innovation at UTS. He worked in radio and TV production at the ABC, volunteered as a News Video Editor for Central News, and freelanced for a regional newspaper. He also received the VFFF Regional Journalism Prize.

A woman stealthed me years ago. She was able to pull off the condom hands free, and to time it the second before busting so she'd get filled before you could react. The first time or two I chalked it up to an accident, but it was a consistent pattern. I got a bit mad over the deceptiveness of it. The truth was that if she had been up front with me, I would have gone bare with her or even given her a child if that's what she wanted.

I lived in Brunswick for close to 25 years . They were the best years of my life . I live in the suburbs now but I want to move back to Brunswick one day . I miss living in Brunswick . I can tell you from speaking with other guys about it that we see it merely as taking it off as it feels better. And for myself when I’m with a woman I always talk to her about it before we do the deed together. Must be said as well from a guy’s perspective you need 100% trust with the woman if she tells you she’s on birth control if you plan to finish inside. So the trust and consent definitely works both ways.

Within the realm of what is immoral and utterly deplorable, people are trying to dictate what is wrong and right; fornication is a sin, sex outside of marriage which is legal, common and promoted in this heathenistic society. Is it a wonder that "stealthing" happens? You people are fools.
It should be illegal, even though its difficult to prosecute. Women who say they are on birth control and are not, should also be prosecuted. Its virtually the same thing. I am surprised this was not brought up. Regarding the stealthing, if the man finishes inside, I would agree its a form of rape. If he does not finish inside, I don't think its rape.
A law was just accepted in Holland covering this. My personal opinion is that it’s nice to hear but impossible to really use. A condomn can go off by accident, when can you proof that anybody purposely took it off. Wouldnt it always come down to his word against her word. And I believe there are asshole who would do such things but then again I do believe some woman would use this to get even. So unless the guy says in writing he will take the condomn off before doing it, you will never be able to really proof anything.
All these women here complaining about the strange men they invited in their beds. It is disgusting 🤮. You peole first share the bed then you decide if you actually want to get to know each other better. It is ridiculous.
It's not just happening to women who sleep with someone they don't know. If you look in the comments alone, you'll see that it even happens to women in relationships. It's about respecting your sex partner's health, safety, and autonomy.
@@gravityclarity hmm havent thought about it from that perspective. In a relationship it is very disrespectful indeed. But it happens to us men too. Often women forget the pill “accidentally” and then you become a father. I think there never will be a solution if we keep seeing men as perpetrators and women as victims. Both genders have perpetrators and victims.
@@jackdewipper187 nobody ever said that wasn’t the case. But it’s usually men who beg women to have unprotected sex. They’re usually the ones who do this sick stealthing thing because they care more about their own pleasure than they do the safety of their female sex partners. So it's called insist on spermicide as a back up and equally share in the cost of Plan B even if she is on the birth control as other medications she takes or ends up on can render the birth control pill ineffective. . If partner is not willing to insist on back up method in case birth control failure man is free to say no to sex without back up protection. Married friend of mine she was on birth control he used a condom she had little Jack and damn near bled to death having him. She got a tubal ligation after . She had wanted on before but Dr refused . Should we charge Drs then when they refuse women in committed relationship access to a more permanent method such as tubal ligation. My father had a vasectomy first procedure failed along came my brother and he went back and had the procedure repeated. Same with women that have underlying medical conditions and want a tubal ligation because she does want to take those risks . Condoms break I know I had to fish one that broke off but guess what my partner insisted on spermicide and plan B as back ups . Never got pregnant for damn near 10yrs because we always used spermicide along with birth control and spermicide gel that kills sperm along with condoms.
You realise how fucking hard it is to ALREADY prove r*ape of penetration even with adequate evidence. Do you have any idea how many cases are settled outside of court of the minor percentage that actually do even get to court. The likelihood is slim, and if that's your concern, read the damn legislation yourself

Better stop “trying” we men are not a toy. If you want respect from a man. Then first start to get to know us for at least one year minimum before you open your legs. Women nowadays spread their legs open wide after the 3rd date. No wonder we treat you like trash.
Happened to me the other day and he said he would go he tested. He says he did and that he’s “clean” but refused to show his std results, saying it was his “personal information.” I was forced to go to the er and I am on prep, had to take plan b, was given a shot to prevent the contraction of chalmydia and gonnorhea, have to pick up antibiotics, make a follow up appointment to get the rest of the doses of prep, and I have to deal with the emotional trauma. He had the audacity to tell me that I was the one that took of the condom (which he did not once but TWICE) and he told me I was “disrespecting” HIM by demanding his std results. I was dumbfounded. As if he didn’t disrespect me by taking the condom off without my consent.
What he did is ethically wrong and immoral yeah. Technically it is his personal medical information but it's also up to you to say no. I've shown my results before to a few women because I hate condoms that much and refuse to use them. It's like wrapping your clitoris in seran wrap and having the guy eat you out. Cuts the pleasure down to basically nothing, so what's the point? As a guy, condoms are AWFUL. We still need to respect a woman though if she wants the condom on. Sex has to be consensual.

I'm not sure where you live, but in the US, someone with an STD gets their STD reported and the person's sexual partners have to be notified because it's a public health issue.

Feminists like this one in the video want you to believe that men are doing to somehow impregnate random women they don't know. They are so F'n stupid. Removing the condom without her knowing is ethically wrong and immoral, but punishable? No. They don't understand that a guy is simply taking it off because you can barely feel anything with it on! Well if you didn't consent to unprotected sex, it's a specific kind of sex that you didn't want. So that kinda is rape. It's not about feminism. It's about respecting the wishes of your partner when it comes to their health and safety. It's not right to expose your partner to the risk of unwanted pregnancies or STIs without their consent. I've lived in Brunswick all of my adult life. I'm extremely passionate about the suburbs with not just pubs, cafes & other variety it has to offer. Its also has (May I add) health & fitness gyms. In fact about thirty in & around the suburbs as well.
I've removed a condom and finished in a woman who didn't want me too, on multiple occasions. At least fifty percent of the anal sex I've recieved as involved Stealthing. As a man who once got gang raped, I am certain that Stealthing shouldn't be classified as rape or a criminal offence.
Problem is this is a sexiest piece of legislation and does offer legal equality. If a women interferes with a condom causing it to break or be damaged, no man can accuse a woman of rape.
I live in Brunswick and wouldn't live anywhere else in Melbourne. Been here at least 15 years and I am so happy to have brought my kids up in the beautiful melting pot of so many cultures. She says rape "violates ones bodily autonomy", you mean like when a woman sabotages a condom, aborts your child against your will, or when she commits paternity fraud or just flat out lies about being raped is caught and never spends a day in prison. Loved this story on my suburb of Brunswick. I've lived here for almost 40 years and never tire of its variety and ability to surprise. You even managed to get a photo of me walking down Sydney Road so I really do feel like I'm finally a local!
