First time watching your channel. All the way from Jamaica.I also fix chainsaw. My name is Ian grant.I always use a Little oil when I'm putting them in. It's To go in Easier this is Chainsaw, that very hard to work on that stihl makes.
I have one of these. I don’t use it. I don’t have a ham license. I have used it as a scanner to listen to emergencies. My town uses different frequency frequencies. I can’t listen with this radio. I can listen to every township in the area. I don’t know what my town uses. Is this radio still relevant in 2024? I was going to get a vx6, is that a better option. I’m going to take my test soon. I just want this for emergency use. Should I keep this radio or get the vx6?
A lot of towns have gone digital.. so a vx6 wouldn't help you in this case. The VX6 is probably a little easier to use as a ham radio than the vx8. I still love my vx8 though..it has some quirks but does it all.
@@design2survive they went to something called Rave alert. I live in Indiana, but can hear all Chicago with it. It’s a great lil radio/ scanner. I’m sure it has lots of stuff. I don’t really know how to use it. I’m watching videos and learning. It’s kinda fragile, the rubber cover for charging port and earphone jack broke….Well the screw in the middle. I might just glue it back on. The little plastic where the screw goes.
I have the privilege of owning a Mitchell Reel. I think it’s about 35-40 years old. I found it in a trash can. Imagine my surprise when I found out it wasn’t a piece of junk! I cleaned it up and lubricated it, found a nice rod for it. I did alot of fishing then… Then when I moved, there aren’t very many places to fish. So it sat in the garage for years, at least 15. One of my Grandsons wanted me to teach him how to fish for bass. So, I got out a couple of my nice fishing rods and we went fishing. About two hours into it…a big ol’turtle grabbed his bait and took off, when he set the hook thinking it was a big ol bass, it broke a couple teeth off the ring gear… Sad to say it ruined the reel. Unless I can get a replacement gear. Good video. Keep the memory alive.
Thanks for your series on Kodiak 400s. My girlfriend has a workhorse 2001 Kodiak 400 4x4 on her ranch that needed some routine maintenance and your vids have been very helpful. In one of them you mention the dearth of useful info or documentation out there as a reason for your videos. I agree, it's hard to find even basic specs, like how much coolant the model holds and, not to criticize, but you forgot to mention it in this video as well. And so my suggestion: It would be very helpful to list the pertinent specs, products and tools used with relevant links, etc. for a particular project video as others do in the video descriptions. Just a thought. Keep up the great work! Thanks.
I have a 2003 Sequoia and have water pooling in the ceiling where the digital console tells you how many miles until empty. Any thoughts by anyone here??? Thank you 🙏🏻
Great video! Bought a 98 as my first just to learn ATV mechanic and ATV in general before moving to something more powerful/complex when needed. Was helpful.
Have this exact same saw. My saw kept puttering out because the muffler was completely plugged up with smoke. I put in a new aftermarket muffler and now it runs lile a brand new saw. Plus it sounds really nice when it runs.
I bought two of those Chinese Brunton copies and found that they are well designed, rugged and well made EXCEPT the hinge is terrible and causes the alignment to wobble. I improved the hinges by substituting the crummy hinge axles for solid metal axles and now my compasses are more useful and more rugged than is my real Brunton Compass that I bought over 50 years ago. My plastic Brunton knockoffs are much lighter than the solid metal Brunton and they aren't nearly as easily damaged as the real thing is. If you are a geology student, you won't have the "prestige" of owning a Brunton, but you will have the full functionality of a Brunton at a tiny fraction of the price.
I tough that all this parts are supposed to go in a ultrasound machine then cleaning with anti rust solutions and after that comes the lubrication and assembly, what kind of rod comes with this reel.
Bought mine new years ago. Used it commercially for land clearing. Starts right up to this day. Great saw. Never had any issues with the way it runs or idles. Interesting mod. Considering it because I do believe in letting an engine breath however, it runs like a champ and cuts logs without any noticeable issues bogging down etc. i also was taught if it's not broke, don't fix it. Hmmm. Something to think about.
Hi Hi great review on this radio you made this super easy to follow. Treating myself to one of these for Father’s Day. Again thanks for sharing. 73’s. Mike
I have the Coleman night light fixture from the good old year of 1996 and the Coleman night light fixture still works like it is still brand new right out of the Coleman factory💡💡💡
I keep mine running as well bought it in around 2005, got a sacrificial for free for spare parts. I gave up on the switch just touch the wires together to kill it. Reason i keep it going is it has a pole saw attachment with it. Only thing i have to rebuild the carb diaphram a so many years but now that i found ethanol free gas its seems to last longer.
@@design2survive i wont pay for a stihl overrated i have an echo vac blower that keeps going no carb issues so if i buy anything it will be echo. My buddy back in DC runs a sideline arborist business and he uses echo now as well. I use both the pole saw and trimmer quite a bit so i definitely dont want to have to contend with two pieces of equipment keeping them going. Two strokes are great until they arent then they can be a nightmare.
