Thank you so much for the 2 part video! It really helps with planning our upcoming trip to Furano. In part 2, you mentioned that skiing across from the top of Kitanomine Gondola to Furano Zone is possible. Is it possible to do vice versa, ie ski from Furano Zone to Kitanomine? Would you classify the connecting runs between the 2 areas as green or blue runs?
Thanks and glad to hear it’s helpful! Yes, it is possible. I’d say it’s more a blue run than green but a strong beginner can still go slowly on a powdery day. Have you checked out our latest Furano video? The connecting runs are shown in the video (H1) on a powdery day: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EMMQdzyy3Fg.htmlfeature=shared (Timestamp is 13:28) Hope that helps
Yes while both of them have variety of runs, the Kitanomine Zone is probably better for beginners with easier runs, and the Furano Zone, offering slightly more challenging trails. Cheers
Skied this run in January. Rated as a black run but is always groomed and was never busy so the surface was very obliging. It is the 2nd furthest away from the main area hence never crowded. Became one of my favourites in Rusutsu.
Yes that’s right, we didn’t think it was a black run until we saw it on the trail map 😅 … it was one of our favourite runs too. We also liked the other black one called ‘Dynamic’
I'm somewhere between beginner and intermediate skill level. I've only skied green trails at Whistler so far, but thanks to you, I feel like I can challenge myself on blue trails. I'm really grateful.
I enjoyed watching your video a lot. I was wondering how you capture the video of the runs. Do you hold a camera with one hand and ski? It doesn't look like a GoPro camera mounted on the helmet. Very nice shots of the runs while you are skiing
Aww 🥰 thanks 🙏 .. really glad to hear you enjoyed it. The shots were captured by GoPro. We usually hold the GoPro out and follow each other to capture their skiing ⛷️.. it’s not always easy as we have to make sure the area is not crowded and we are not in the way of other skiers to ensure safety for people as well. Sometimes it might take us to ski a few runs to capture one complete run 😅
Thanks for your reply. Amazing shots. Really good selection of groomers in Whistler Blackcomb to showcase. I skied around 70 days last season in Whistler. If I had to pick, I probably would have said the same ones to someone who comes to visit for a day or two and is interested in groomers. I love to go visit other ski resorts on Epic Pass. How do you find which runs to go when you are new to a resort? Do you ask guest services? Do you go on Mountain Hosts tours? Do you talk with people on the chairlift?
And about capturing videos, this is a great way to capture. It captures best of both. GoPro stabilizes the picture and its direction is chosen manually to capture the best view. Of course, the safety points you mentioned are very important too.
@@simavalizadeh WOW 😮 ... 70 days of skiing sounds awesome!! Thanks again, this means a lot coming from someone who had done a great amount of skiing in Whistler. We are on Epic Pass as well and the way we plan is slightly different depending on the size of the resort. For destination resorts, we usually research the resort beforehand by gathering info, tips and reviews online as well as watching youtube. When we get to the resort, we study the trail map closely and chat with people to get some ideas, then ski the green and blue runs in an area at a time and work our way through as many areas as we can, usually prioritising the ones from our research first, then come back to the ones we enjoyed the most until we feel adventurous and get on the steeper runs or moguls if our legs are still with us :). For smaller resorts, we don't usually spend a lot of time on doing research but just go by the trail map and enjoy all the surprises each run has to offer. Sometimes, things never go according to plan though so we might end up on some of the unplanned runs and just enjoy the unknowns and little surprises along the way until we find our way back to the run we originally planned to do ... and the way we see it is; it's all part of the fun 🤩.. surprisingly those unplanned moments are the ones we found we would enjoy the most at the end of our day :)
Thanks 😊 this short video was shot on my iPhone XS and edited using vintage / cinematic profile which helped enhance the flat colours from the raw shots .. hope that helps 😊
Oh what a shame! It was the best day so far this season .. great vibe everywhere on the mountain too! maybe time to look for Telstra data plan deals 😅😂
BTW, just finished 2 weeks ski trip to Furano, thank you...all wonderful except the slots of the gondola cabin are too small to carry modern skis..skiers had to bring their skis into the cabin..that drastically reduced the numbers of passengers the cabin can take in one flight....cannot figure out Y the management is so stupid...😞
Great to hear it was all wonderful! Yeah we had noticed that too. You probably saw our skis inside the gondola in the Furano - Kitanomine video. My guess is they didn’t anticipate the high demand as it was still a hidden gem when I was there pre-Covid. There was barely any line in the morning. Hopefully it will be upgraded in the future though :)
@@snowtasticday I stayed at Hotel Edel Warme..all good...easy to get budget accommodation if youre not too demanding. btw old Prince Hotel had been closed down...new Prince is just too expensive la...😑
@@cmtang304 oh what a shame it’d been closed down! It was a great ski-in ski-out hotel with reasonable price. Yep, totally agreed with you about the new Prince hotel is too expensive!
Excellent video - makes me excited to ski there in a few weeks after feeling somewhat anxious about the mountain and what I assumed would be difficult runs for the most part. It’s a relief to know I can cruise at my intermediate pace and enjoy the view along the way.
aww 🥰 thanks. This means a lot. Reading your comment makes me excited for my next ski trip 😊. Have fun and enjoy all the runs on offer. I’ve heard it’s a great season at Whistler this year!
Really glad to hear it’s informative and helpful for your trip planning :) saw your notes about going here in the next few days so I hope you will have a great time and enjoy all the runs on offer 💚
Absolutely great stuff! Your video is a gem especially for those of us who want to pre-plan our trips and get a general gist and vibe of the resort and town! Looking forward to coming over to Furano in March 2023 for some spring skiing! i'm sure other people will also find your videos very valuable now that borders have opened!
Thank you 🙏 for watching and the lovely feedback! I’m really pleased to hear you have found them valuable to pre-plan your trips. Hope you will have a great one and enjoy what Furano has to offer 💜
Beautiful day, I skied once in Rusutsu...2016.....it might get foggy sometimes, but not as frequent as Niseko. I loved their lengthy runs...seemed like endless by Japan standard. I am planning on going to Furano next season 2023, after watching your Furano videos. Cheers🎉.
Thanks .. totally agreed, we enjoyed the lengthy and scenic runs and glad to hear our Furano videos were helpful 💜! Hope you will have a great time there 👍 and many thanks for watching our vids. Cheers 🎉
Seeing the blue sky..it’s easy to tell how much you dislike going to Niseko where is always cloudy...the only attraction maybe Mt. Yotei and nothing else.
It was a couple of days before Christmas day and we had plenty of snow. Looks like Kitanomine zone is scheduled to open from mid-December 2022 according to the Prince Hotel’s website: www.princehotels.com/en/ski/furano/
Wow 😮.. I have seen this trail from many video clips but this is the best one with useful info in the intro and loved how you show the whole run from top to bottom and the good recommendation at the end. Thanks so much !
Many thanks for this informative vid about this run. We are finally heading for Rusutsu for the first time and will definitely check this one out as we love carving and long slope such as this Heavenly Ridge A. Perfect for what we want. Love the extra details about marking the trail on the map or recommendations at the end of the vid. Please keep making quality content like this. We have subscribed and are looking forward to future vids. Thanks again and Have a good day
