Bearing in the back end of the gearbox are very weak. Iv had it on a few 350+ horsepower subaru impreza. Love the car man 🤘 iv an sti type r love cg8 . 🇮🇪
I actually just bought a GC8, I don’t plan on hitting 800hp or anything with it but damn it’s a fun car. Edit: Jesus Christ I forgot this was my account name LMAOOOO
Damn, a near 200 whp difference??? This right here is a PRIME example of the importance of power to weight. THIS is how you build an EJ. Well done sir, well done 🤝
Would you say that Swift Springs are worth it on a pure daily driver? Looking to get Silver's but I've never had a set of Swift Springs on any of my coilovers.
@@ItsLoups like you mean to say your bracket is broken NOW? Or you installed it broken? I can understand why it broke....alot of weight on the exhaust manifold from the weight of the turbo and with all the bumps on the road this will stress out the bracket
Dude power to weight is a real thing! 35psi with rolling antilag does so much more damage. It is insane. I appreciate it man! It is down again. I sent out the driveshaft to get rebalanced haha
What radiator are you running? I want to compare the core size as I’m trying to see if a GD PWR rad will fit with these exact headers but I’m starting to think maybe not.
Make it happen dude! Haha And yeah, I try learning everything on my own. Last thing to learn are transmission and drivetrain rebuilds. I really want to delve into that next 😅
i would advise not to switch to 3 inch intercooler piping. unless your running 900+ hp its not worth loosing volumetric efficiency. in other words your just having to fill alot more volume before it hits the motor. also with the bigger pipe your giving alot more room for air to stall and swirl in the pipe. some dont care but it makes a difference during normal driving.
This is somewhat true depending on what elevation you are at. At my altitude you will want 3” piping above 750-800whp forsure. You will notice a difference switching to 3” forsure and I would not recommend for a daily. If you are already putting a laggy turbo, then I guess you don’t care about lag as much so this piping might not be too big of a deal. IATs may be noticeable as well. I did not pay too much attention to that, but the car is handling well. Flatfoot shifting is helping the turbo lag between shifts. It is pretty awesome!
Man I love your car, its such a great build. Cool video, but one tip, we dont really need your hand in the video so much, it really messed with the focus quite a bit. Still super sick build, thanks for showing!
Sell the motor and trans mounts and get your self some Vermont sports car mounts. You won’t look back. Especially the type of hammering the type of cars vsc cars take it’s tried and true. Keep up the good work! Love the videos and car!
I got a good deal on the mounts going in now! I think we should be okay. Haha I did not want to go solid and I think VSC is solid?! I am not sure tbh lol But I appreciate you man! We will see how this thing rips!!! I will try to be more active on this!
Which tomei did you get? For what year body style? Was it the 2002 to 2007 tomei? And did it line up with your GM8 or did you have to do fabricating to make it fit?
Thanks man!! One switch is for the clutch switch to starter disengagement (remote start) and the other is to manually turn on my radiator fans if I am in a staging lane for too long and want to keep the temps down !
