Welcome to the Foliage Loft. Here we talk about houseplants, their care and how we use them in interior design. We will also be documenting our visits to beautiful natural areas. Let's get lost in foliage!
The begonia maculata isn’t an angel wing begonia. The begonia lucerna is the angel wing begonia. The maculatas have white flowers and the lucernas have pink. :))
I'm in zone 9b in the San Francisco north bay area. A friend from Fort Bragg gave me a cutting from her houseplant in Oct 2023. The cutting is now (July 2024) a 2.5 ft plant, climbing a tripod made with bamboo sticks. I use leather string to tie the begonia's trunk to the bamboo . The leaves are large, dark green with silvery spots. The plant is at a north facing window, getting only indirect sun. Once in a while, the pot is rotated to give other leaves a chance to face the window. I water once a week, using rice water or just plain water. At the base of my beloved begonia sits a young dark buddha figurine that my best friend in Iran had handmade for me. The little boy sits inside a lotus. So, begonia, buddha and I are a triangular team, enjoying each other's company while I sip tea in my favorite living room chair. Cheers
You must have met thousands of people from India that day. When I grew up the falls were peaceful and you would meet bird watchers and nature lovers. Now it’s just packed with Indians looking for a cheep place to cook. They have no respect for the atmosphere in the nature preserves.
Mine was gifted in October of 2023, and it's the exact same size as it was when it was gifted to me. I am puzzled, because it has practically remained dormant for 8 months. I have placed it on the balcony at night for humidity, and used Miracle Gro diluted with distilled water, but nothing. I guess its better than being dead.
I enjoyed standing at the bottom of Webster.. I was lucky to be able to visit the bottom and stand under the water.. my favorite is Albion that was fun to climb too .. I climbed them both in 2015 haven't been back to Webster since been to tews few years back on route to the Dundas peak lookout
Wtf??? I have no idea how to do circumference or pie anymore. I have the worst math skills after Long Division and multiplication. I left that scribble scrabble far behind me in the darkness. Lol
Growing up here was wonderful. UNTOUCHED BEAUTY. As time goes on I have noticed the massive change. Let's just name 2. Webster'S falls and TewS falls were in Greensville until Hamilton took over and now I have noticed the names have changed omitting the S's. Its nice to see more emphasis on my home town but everyone else who grew up there and has watched these videos will have the same feeling.....untouched no more.
I just bought my second one after waiting two years two days ago. It was definitely the tap water. I then thought it was the light and put in direct sun light out side to save it. All the leaves turned yellow, brown and died. I throw it away. This one SHALL LIVE lol
Hi thanks for this! My dracaena just had a trauma and had all its leaves burnt dry… should I cut the whole head off and let the stem grow new leaves and try to propagate the head? Or should I leave it be and see if it recover by itself? Thanks!
Hamilton sucks honestly. The waterfalls are taken over by the privileged people. The parking is closed by the locals forcing you to talk really far. The falls are tiny to begin with. Boo Hamilton.
Thank you for sharing your story being a beginner so do i ...and im actually having a problem with my draceana right now I think i overwater it I'm so.upset cause i love this plant..she was beautiful and healthy when i first bought her until i moved her under the green lights and it turned the leaves brown on the edge only and then i water it and now it's turning light yellow 😢😢😢 What to do ? Thanks for giving me those tips..good luck on your plant collections ..
