It’s not ideal, but I guarantee it’s not as bad as those defector celebrities say it is. I’m from South Korea and I heard that they exaggerate stories because the more gruesome and disturbing they are, the more attention and fame they get. The ones that make up really good stories get book/movie deals etc. Propaganda exists for us too , remember that
@@saesang352 I live in Australia where propaganda does not exist and I know many South Koreans who live here, some legally, some illegally, but they both got the same thing in common they came here for a better life and never want to return to South Korea permanently. So the people in South Korea who say the North Koreans defectors exaggerate their stories for fame and fortune are just Jealous people in my opinion. Penny less and alone they arrived in South Korea and in few years they are wealthy. They just tell lies to make money that is the South Korean thinking towards the North Koreans defectors who found a better life in your country and the jealous South Koreans put a side the suffering they and their family have endured under a brutal regime but they just see the money they made and don't care about the rest but only to make up lies about the defectors
@@markoenrico2684 that makes no sense. my family is from South Korea lol. Obviously we don’t have evidence that they are lying, but their stories a lot of the times doesn’t add up. Sometimes there’s rats eating dead bodies everywhere, sometimes there’s people having babies on broken glass (yeah right), sometimes there’s people eating each other alive while just staring into space (come on lmao). Now I understand their situation is not good, but there is no way in heck I believe that. If they just say “yeah it’s not good, we work a lot and don’t earn a lot”, no one would care. But the ones that get famous tell insane and crazy stories like Yeonmi park.
