Greetings All! My name is Dave, I am a quilter from Pennsylvania (although I don't live there now 😅) I make QUILTS in my videos, all kinds of them... whatever project has me obsessed this week 😜👨🏻

I have been crafting and making art my whole life. My mom taught me to sew when I was young and she taught me how to make quilts about eight years ago.
Please enjoy my quilting videos and come with me on the journey.

Very cool blocks!

It is not because it is difficult, it is fairly easy, it is however very boring to do a quilt that has much redundancy, once you have seen one block--they rest are the same. Grandmothers flower Garden also is a quilt that many began and few finish the project. My philosophy ia: finished is better than perfect. One of my first quilts is a Grandmothers Flower Garden that is completely hand sewn and hand quilted, I still have, also have a Double Wedding Ring. Never out of style. Dave you are the best, your enthusiasm is contagious, thank youo.

Thank you for completing this quilt on You Tube. A enjoyed every minute watching you put it together without using a grid pattern. The 500 Block Quilt is fantastic and so are you. Keep doing the quilting and sharing it with us as we get so much enjoyment watching you design quilts as you go along with no pattern. You are a quilting genius.

Jungle is an amazing quilt. I love listening to your thought processes, you are so unique. Im in the UK and wondering what is Windex?? Is it a starch for pressing creases?? Looking forward to watching again. Thanks very much.

Do you reuse your blades? Someone else shared a tier system: no fabric cutting=> use it to cut paper, no paper cutting=> use it to cut… I can’t remember the third one.
@davescraftroom

haha tbh I'm not super precious with the blades, I use it to cut everything, paper, fabric, whatever material I'm working with, until it's too dull :P

How have I not found you before! The thinking cap (I’m going to find one of my own!), your sound effects, watching your thought processes, so dang cool! I’m so happy to be at the beginning of this quilting journey with you! You take me back to my college art class days, many decades ago, the energy and all-nighters and craziness that comes together into magic. I cannot claim to have half of your talent and creativity, just fascinating to watch you!

This quilt is phenomenal!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening to this video and what you did with it. I too have bought an ‘ugly’ quilt from ebay, several years ago. The postage to the UK cost more than the quilt top, but i love it and hate it. The previous owner and i had several debates as to the block name and the price. Eventually it arrived and i have unpicked some of it into units and plan to use a different and more complementary sashing. I might finish it one day, it deserves it. Great shows Dave, love watching 😂

Hi there, thank you for your videos. i was wondering if you've come across a huge book called Unconventional & Unexpected: American Quilts Below the Radar (2014]. This quilt could have definitely been in it! Loads of photos and interesting reading too. :)

I have seen a thread cutter at The last homely house. You could use one of the blades for that. It helps saving time with chain pieced elements. And those blades usually are hard rto sharpen all around.

COOL LOVE your energy and content. I FIRST found your YT while searching for IDEAS (my son has MANY aloha shirts he no longer wears…didnʻt want to sell them…wanting me to at least make a King size blanket or quilt…and I wanted to use ALL/MOST of the aloha shirt. I cut across the bottom under the sleeves. Will cut into strips, sew than cut blocks. Cut 3” off bottom and 3” off sides (scrunchies and lanyards). Hopefully I can get some blocks from the top of shirt. Iʻm not a quilter BUT in college…I remember sewing a twin (printed) flat sheet, twin batting and a twin (solid) flannel sheet together…then used embroidery floss to secure pieces. I think someone said back then…it was a tie quilt. Iʻm also from Hawaiʻi..and Iʻm really not into piece quilting BUT I have choke Hawaiian Applique patterns that I want to use for projects. Iʻm interested in shin stitching w/seeing machine. Do you have a tutorial for that? Have you used heat bond with your Hawaiian 16:11 applique projects? Reply SOON. Iʻm 66…Iʻve procrastinated for so many years and now Iʻm trying to finish what I can. Iʻm a hoarder (sewing and crafts) lots of materials Iʻve bought through the years. Iʻm going to do what I can and donate to non profits in my area that work w/all ages (children youth and other SWEET and crafters in my area (I donʻt want my children to just THROW my things away.😮😢😮
