@@YashaWells I mean Jacksonville is ok for me, I like it I can kayak ,fish, bike ride , do all the outdoorsy activities lol people talk about the crime but I haven’t experienced anything . Overall I it’s cool for me. I would love to live more south but it’s more expensive and more likely to get direct hits for the hurricane ( in my opinion) Love your video!
Thank God I live in a rural area.I got no neighbors for 3/4 of a mile or more in any direction.Nobody can walk about it on my property and tell me what I can and can't do
Silverleaf is a blight on Jacksonville. The developers left none of the natural landscape. They came in and destroyed acres of trees without preserving anything. It’s hideous.
ANYONE who buy a home in a HOA, and didn't do their research, that's on YOU. HOA's are nothing more than a legal way to rob homeowners legally without a weapon! I'm not trying to preach to ya. I'm telling you what God loves and that's the truth.
The thing about Florida is if you don’t have an HOA or some governing entity you’ll always have at least two or three people living on your street that hoard trash and have an extremely overgrown lawn. It’s just how Florida is. Tons of trashy people.

First of all, PURE nightclub used to be the Spot! Loved Fridays and WideAwakeWednesday was revolutionary to Jax nightlife... Now we only have Myth night club and beach bars.... Town Center is way bouji and really overpriced! Restoration Hardware does have a magnificent roof top restaurant... Downtown Jax has been placed well under the Bible of First Baptist church and they have stifled any and all nightlife and culture.... We never get any decent concerts or tours, this will always be this way due to markets like Miami and Orlando being able to sell tickets at much higher capacity... Even though we have had lots of okay shows, it's never on a decent Friday or Saturday.... For late night grubs I always go to Spliffs Gastropub downtown! Jacksonville's the biggest small town you'll ever be a part of... It's easy to blend in and get lost in the anonymity of normalcy and lackluster everything... Housing prices have stabilized even if still high and way overpriced in most areas... Traffic is only bad when it rains(it rains all the time)... Love your videos! Hope my comments helped anybody interested in knowing more about Dirty Duval... Lived here 36 years now. Been here so long I've watched several of my friends that hated this place, and move out to other states, only to all come back! So I'm glad I never left... The grass is greener where you water it, not on the other side!
You said nothing good about Jacksonville and your friends failed in another city so that means the grass isn’t greener? 😂 There are objectively better cities than Jacksonville
@@RileyHuey16 they didn't fail, they just realized that Duval's smalltown laiback slower pace of life is far better than the rat race of other "objectively better" cities....
The thing is that many of those same HOAs have said they are going to ignore that new state law since state law in their minds cannot supersede a contract an owner made with an HOA before the law took effect.
The Federal Government also passed two Laws against HOAs on flying the American Flag and outdoor antennas for satellite reception. Do the HOAs care? NO! They still fine property owners for it.
I have a friend that got a job in Atlanta. See, he can't leave Atlanta area or it will count legally as him abandoning his kids, which he doesn't want to do anyway. But there are no nice houses near/around Atlanta that aren't covered in HOA bullshit. Not everyone has a choice to avoid HOAs. I'm just glad I'm not facing that problem. Fuck HOAs. You shouldn't be able to sign away your property rights like that.
Long time Floridian here. If you want to live under an HOA, go for it. However, i for one don't 1, live spitting distance from my neighbor, 2 have a measly .5 acre back yard, 3 pay a beaurocracy to tell me how to live, and 4 put a lien against my home I pay for with petty reasons. There have been multiple cases where HOA have fined and tried to take decorated war veterans homes for flying American flags!
@johnspartan5515 I guess that works, but you are far removed from a city I'd guess? Honestly I'd rather have a 10000 square foot lot in a nice neighborhood in town, but to each their own.
@yashawells The nightlife here has definitely fallen off. I think Jax Beaches is the best bet right now. I think Downtown will soon be a great spot, with the Jags Stadium deal being approved.
@@rickt1951 They will never go away, the county/city used to pay to develop subdivisions and roads. now this cost is passed off to the buyer in the form of an HOA. But the best part is your taxes still remain the same and you are on the hook for the bill.
HoA are fine if they would just keep it simple,keep lawn cut to an acceptable level ,no broke down properties etc. not your lawn has a dead spot due to lack of rain so heres 150$ fine or you painted your red door black please paint it red.
HOAs make stuff look nice, so living right next to one but not being in it, is the best of all worlds. You should prioritize living within a mile of an HOA
We lived in that development across the street from the Al Hambra dinner theater. At the time (1985) all the 6ths graders in Jacksonville went to one building for the 6th grade, RL Brown Middle School so imagine my shock seeing how poor that neighborhood was right around RL Brown.
