I’m climbing my first mountain in Maine day after Christmas. Im saving for Hestra gloves if I can afford it after skis and boots. These look awesome. I have wanted the fall lined gloves for years after seeing Joe Robinet beat them up. I know they have to be great if he loves them. Hard to spend the money but I will own a pair. It’s hard the fall lined won’t be warm enough for the mountain trip but I’ll get more use bushcrafting with the fall lined. Any advice? Dig it.
Got a pair of Hestra Wakayama gloves. Proudly priced. They're awesome, BUT, Hestra really needs to work on their quality control... the stitching around the thumb was done super poorly and barely overlapped the leather, so it split as soon as I put them on - seriously. They did repair it but it took weeks and I had to pay for shipping which is totally unacceptable. They are tarnishing their brand by outsourcing manufacturing to some cheap ass Chinese plant, sad.
I was looking for advice on how to refresh the leather after washing my gloves. What oil, or cream, to apply to my sheepskin gloves, so as to keep the leather supple and safe for next winter. Advice on how many pairs of luxury gloves to keep on hand, and how slowly to re-pack them in tissue paper-lined boxes, is not what I expected to watch here.
Sorry Hestra, but only an idiot would buy your work gloves. Sure your ski gloves annd driver gloves are the absolute shit. Those I’ll take care of better than my animals, but no one wants to spend that coin on work gloves or just the time babying them. I can buy many many pairs kinco and wells Lamont that will last a good while and are super cheap.
Dear god...Make a video about a glove layering system, fail to mention what any of the models are, and not answer a single query in the comments. Not really into marketing, are you, Hestra.
I disagree with this layering system because no matter how good the insulation is on a glove i always have warmer bare hands when clenched into a fist. The mitten is the only thing that actually warms my hands because it closer to the natural design of clenching all fingers and hand together. Try putting sock over a fist and you'll see how much warmer it is compared to thickest glove.

Don't stretch your gloves the wrong way, or breath on them, as it may damage the gloves. Avoid getting the gloves dirty, or using them. Keep your gloves in a safe at night.
@@thepilotmaster777 Ah, that's right. You've remembered a very important point of caution, and no doubt saved many gloves from suffering needless harm from carelessly loud owners.
As a winter backpacker with half a century of wilderness experience, I cannot believe you do not have convertible mittens with liner gloves for dexterity. Unbelievable. Make yourself a whole new profit center by pursuing that niche. Be sure to make the liner gloves fully removable and include at least two pairs of liners with every pair of mittens. You will be driving Bentleys and Porsches very shortly. The additional pair of liner gloves gives you the ability to dry the liners while using the alternate pair. As you know, safety in the event of wetting is critical in the winter. Many customers in humid, rainy regions like Scotland and the Eastern U.S. are crying out for this product.
