What a brute way of harvesting berries.... Research shows that yes the berries are "less damaged" when collected by this method...but you also loose a lot more berries due to it indiscriminately collecting ripe and unripe berries. You get like a weird 60/40 ratio. So you actually loose profit. So you need like 20%ish more berry bushes. So conventional method is STILL far better.

We grew flu cured tobacco here in East Central Georgia until the early 80s but everything was so different then. 30 acres was considered to be a large allotment and most of the work was done by hand. The tobacco was cropped (picked) in stages, starting at the bottom of the plant and working up, lasting 4 to 5 weeks in July and August.
