As an Eagles fan. I wish we still had any of these past songs. And while I know everyone loves the 90s version, my pick would be the second version. Just the triumphant swell and cheering at the end, plus the good memories of that song playing during the mid 2000s, especially the 06 granny
The old Brisbane Bears song (the first one) is much better than whatever crap the Lions are using, don't know who wrote that one but I wish I could tell them just how CRAP their song is... :)
The second Eagles song WE ARE FLYING HIGH is hilarious they need that song again! Considering their past drug issues this is a perfect song LOL 😂😅 There is a reason I STOPPED supporting the Eagles in 1998.
@@gggumball I stopped supporting the Eagles in the late 90's not for drug issues, but because of their host club arrangment in the WAFL. The Eagles made Claremont (then East Perth) a super club with AFL listed players and extra coaches.
@@gggumballthey also had drug issues in the 90s with the late great Chris mainwaring. It’s talked about on Ben cousins such is life. Great Documentary. Highly recommend
You get a bit upset when you hear the Fitzroy song. Up the Lions, the Roys of old, bloody proud working class blokes who were perhaps the victims of the game going national.
It may have been a joke of a song at the time, but Brisbane's first song Dare to Beat the Bear has aged like fine wine. Really miss the songs from Mike Brady that are often forgotten about aside from the 2 obvious classics. Remember one of his forgotten songs "There's a little bit of Cazaly in us all"
2nd Brisbane song is often hard to get hold of any recording, they never really played it on TV even during their successful 1995 and 1996 years. Really a lost opportunity to preserve what was the Bears better years before the merger.
