I am so proud to say my beloved mother and our people are from this most breathtaking, beautiful city of Las Vegas, New Mexico.. I was so excited to have gone to visit a couple of times and was taken back of its beauty the moment we arrived..my aunt and uncle had a really nice cabin up in the mountains and omg, that was something I will cherish until the day I die.. especially going to see Herman's Peak..now THAT was incredibly beautiful as well..whoever, if any by now in 2024 have been so blessed to buy this property, I am sure you have found your own glorious heaven on earth home..lucky you..if I had a way, a last wish, I would give anything to have my ashes spread in the mountains of my homeland of Las Vegas, New Mexico..🙏🕊️❤️
My wife and I would certainly like to visit at some point. I still have 4 yrs. until I retire and this is something I want to experience. We don't hunt, but my wife and I like to fish. We have a van we've converted with solar, a small fridge, some nice air conditioning for those hot nights and a very nice camp stove with an oven. We even have a Nature's Head toilet that uses corn husk which only takes a couple of turns to make your excrement into dirt. Separates urine as well. I wonder if you allow people to get off the beaten path and get out into nature. I guess when the time comes, we'll find out. Hope all is well on the ranch!
Gorgeous landscape but WTF were they thinking with the design and siting of the home? It's completely lacking in ANY sense of good design/location, etc. ALL of that land and they decide to just throw up something like this, with the concrete slab out front for parking??? Hideous.
i spent 1975-1979 at Methodist Home Boys Ranch. I can attest to the beauty of this property. It used to be almost 3500 acres, why its 1858 is beyond me. The property is full of creeks and small ponds. It used to border the Branch Davidian compound on the north east edge. We had lots of Black and Red Angus cattle that were dontated to the Ranch from the Gov Bill Daniel estate. We had tons of red duroc hogs, sheep, horses. We had a butcher shop that cut meat and an active FFA show barn used to show and auction cattle. Probably had around 65-70 boys who mostly attended Axtell High Schools. I enjoyed my life here and learned alot about farming and ranching. I worked many hours farming the ranch land bottoms. it does flood during high rains. Robert Montlabo
