Our family of 6 (and one dog) resides in central Illinois, but you never know where we might pop up for an outdoor adventure! We began tent camping in 2011 and bought our first pup in 2018.... and fell in love with it. We have learned some tips and tricks along the way, had a variety of adventures and are ready to share them with you.

Stay tuned for campground reviews, pop-up camping tips and tricks, hacks, cooking and prep, and so much more!

We have a 2006 Fleetwood Evolution that works well for us. It could use a bit more room in the dinette space though. Fridge never gets very cold. Added reflective insulation in all the windows for a beach trip a couple weeks ago. They were great help in controlling heat gain from the sun. Adding Popup Gismos and a reflective tarp over the middle for a trip at the end of this month

I know this is not a question for you to do a whole video on in your series, but this “sleeping” video put me in mind of a question I had. The beds in a popup say “king”. Does a standard “king” sheet set from Walmart fit? Also, what about a quilt or comforter in the same way. Thank you!
@AdventuresinPopUps
@AdventuresinPopUps 2 дня назад
@@paigepittman5749 camper sizes are smaller. We typically use the same size, it’s just roomy. Some people say to buy jersey knit sheets a size smaller and they will stretch on perfectly.

Yes you can sleep a lot of bodies in a popup! We probably had 7 or 8 in our years ago. We had the bigger popup and it had a couch. Gosh how I miss those days!

Is it hard to add a arm rail to a hw pop-up camper and do you have any advice on camping with a child with autism?
@AdventuresinPopUps
@AdventuresinPopUps 2 дня назад
What is an arm rail? We don’t have personal experience camping with a child with autism, but connecting with nature can be great therapy! I would say make sure to bring creature comforts along (favorite pillow, any sensory toys, etc) and cook favorite meals, trying to keep routines similar. Depending on the severity of the needs, you may need to add a high lock on the door in case they want to leave and keep other safety considerations in mind.
@melissakautz9687
@melissakautz9687 2 дня назад
@@AdventuresinPopUps might even be called a hand rail. You grab it when going up and down the steps. Most of my son's foods are microwavable. Nuggets, mash potato bowls, Mac and cheese bowls. He also likes honey nut Cheerios dry, teddy grahams, goldfish, cheese its, Scooby snacks, apple sauce and yogurt. He has texture issues. We love having a bathroom non our pop-up as my son won't go to public bathroom. Maybe a sensory issue.

No shower/bathroom(besides the outdoor shower) aside from the cassette thing, but it's pretty good for what I use it for. Hey guys nice video, but Jayco hasn't been making popups for quite a while, as well as Startcraft. I consider all of the other popups bascially the same as Forest River owns all the companies, and the same popups are sold between coachman and forest river, just maybe some of the colors are different. Sad that there is really no more competition.

Our bathroom shower head leaks a fair amount, even when you toggle the button on the head, thats supposed to keep it off. We currently have a 2003 Coleman Cottonwood (for sale) and just bought a 2006 Fleetwood Niagara High Wall, Yay! There are still plenty of great 20 year old+ models out there, you just need to find ones that were well cared for. You will always need to put a little into them, but if you do your research you can limit the expense. I think we put about $1,000 into our Cottonwood (new cushion covers, drapes, tires, faucet, bed pads) and it's been great. We'll probably have to put a little less into the Niagara because it was in better shape.
