Welcome to the channel. Here I share a wide range of running videos with ideas and thoughts on running - perfect for the post run watch. Steal any ideas that help - and more than anything, just enjoy running, for you.
Bought one of these fakes, honestly more comfortable and better to run in than my Brooks Glycerins. But this is coming from a 20 minute 5km runner, if anything this has more pop than the brooks.
@@theinconsequentialrunner Amazing how steady the camera is. I’ll defo get one when we go to Japan. Then the wife and kids can relive every minute of my long runs 😂😂😂
Yes! Thank you! You probably noticed me stutter as I said it, as I remembered about Bobbi Gibb, but couldn't remember if that was the Boston Marathon she ran - so thank you for correcting that, much appreciated - as it needed to be!
No Brasil, estao vendendo este modelo, superblast 1 no mercado livre nas é falso. Comprei um e devolvi. A diferença é muito pequena tem que conhecer o verdadeiro
Maybe you would have found out eventually anyway, but imagine you never had the authentic pair, and the fakes were your first pair of Superblast. You may of had suspicions but would you have really known they were fake? That’s the scary thing. That may or may not be a rhetorical question for you. I remember the one and only time I bought something fake. It was over a decade ago. This brand called Monster Cable made some extremely nice Miles Davis earbuds called Tribute. They retailed for something like $500 US I believe. I found them on eBay for about $350 or so. I was really enjoying them until the exterior metal casing fell off of one bud one day. Then I started scrutinizing the things and examining them closely not even owning a real one for comparison sake. But the fakes were not matching the Monster product description. The big tell was that metal exterior that had fallen off, was actually plastic with metallic paint on it. I tapped it with my nail, and even bit it, and I knew. I was gutted. I didn’t get my money back on them, but at the least I got a story and a RU-vid video out of them (which I’ve probably taken down now). Thanks for warning us and at least you got your story and video out of it now. Real quick. Even fake Superblast and especially Nike Alphafly 3/Vaporfly 3 have started to invade Japan on a small scale. On a user to user selling website Mercari, a few merchants are selling fakes, but they clearly mark them as such in the description. But it’s unnerving to say the least even seeing them.
Thanks for your video. I just ordered a pair online through GOAT. I don’t know if there’s fakes of these in circulation but any tips to tell if they’re fake or not?
@@theinconsequentialrunner thanks so much for your reply. I just ran in them yesterday and they felt great. Super light and comfy. They look like the real deal. I’m comparing with pics I see online. The details look identical to what I’m seeing so I think they’re real… but I’ll weigh them as well. If these are fakes, whoever is making these needs to just start their own company lol. I think you mentioned something like that in another video. At any rate I really appreciate it.
Loved the Boston 10, love this.. Shoe tubers not including yourself mostly are 60kg and wear that many different shoes they actually don’t know what they are talking about.. Plus when you rarely meet honest people….. I like simple shoes, This shoe is amazing and does exactly what it needs to do.. Thanks 🙏🏻
Thanks for checking out my channel and Superblast 2 video. I’m here returning the favor. The S4 sounds like a really good tempo shoe. Also, I know the ASICS store you were at nearby Tokyo Station. That’s a great store, I almost went there to buy the Superblast 2. Many runners like to run around Tokyo Station and the Imperial Palace, so they oftentimes use the shower rooms available in that store.
Yeah, it is a good tempo shoe - I just have a play on the track with it. Yes, I had no idea about the services the Tokyo store offered until I visited it - it is a great store, and hires out shoes too! I miss running in Japan for sure. Thanks - and I'll subscribe to your channel - nice memories of Japan. Cheers mate.
Great review man. But I haven't understood an j Important thing. Do you have the same size of SB1 or you went 1/2 size down as a lot of people advice to do? Thanks for your reply
I've gone for the same size. The change in fit isn't big at all, and didn't force me to change the size. I was US10 for both the SB1 and SB2 - all good.
@@theinconsequentialrunner Great. Thank you. I've just ordered a pair of SB2 of the same size (9,5 us) as all the Asics shoes I have and I was afraid to have choosen the wrong size. I don't know the reason why a lot of people size 1/2 down ..... In two days I will discover the fit of this great shoes 🤞🤞🤞 Thanks a lot. 👍
I'm just about to purchase these. Done 600 miles in superblast 1. For me they arnt a fast shoe in a sense of feel compared to a carbon racer. But I use these for marathon training a long side the prime x strung and you can pretty much cover everything between them both.
Great to see a NZ kiwi review channel for shoes ...where are you based ? So the only issue I found is the toe box is definitely smaller on this 2 version. I sized down half a size with SB1 and it was perfect but I feel like I'm in between sizes with this one ... I'm pretty sure ASICS will ramp up production with the 4 new colorways due in September so if this size does work out I will go up half a size for next pair. ASICS killing it atm ... Just took my Paris metaspeed edge for a blast a few days ago and they are superb.
@@stevros48 totally agree with you on all that, you're spot on. I've little k's in my Paris Edge, but I've some runs lined up soon to thrash and review them. But as you said, Asics are just killing it at the moment. Based in Wellington.
I have a dilemma now because watching your video i realize that the SB i have received today from AliExpress are fake (i only paid 52 euros) but it is an improved fake version. It is as light as the original and doesnt have the blurred letters, lol.
@@kenken_77 good question. My foot is about average width and the upper feels roomy enough, so I think it would likely suit. Nothing beats trying them on, so I don't think you'd be wasting your time doing that.
Will this shoe work for forefoot strikers? And being a stiff shoe obviously to accomadate the rocker, will the forefoot start to flex just a little bit over time?
@@jefreywith1f924 great question. I'll talk about in the update, as I try it more, but I think so. It'll work for forefoot, I'm mid foot and it gives me a lot. I do think it'll give more to heal strikers. I'll test and report on the flex too.
@@theinconsequentialrunner Thank you for your speedy response. I will stay tuned in for your follow up. I wish Asics would of released a full assortment of colors initially instead of waiting until September. This color combo is to much of a mismatch for me imo.
Great review!, I have never tried superblast, only Nimbus 25 and I like it the ride and stablility of N25, is Superblast 2 has some stability for my mild pronation on my left foot? and how is the lockdown?.
Great question. The lockdown is good - and adjustment of the laces is easy to get the lockdown that works for you. That said, personally, I've my lockdown on the loose side of things and am comfortable with that. Re the pronation, I think it will be good, but the best way to test is to get onto a treadmill - so find a retailer that has a treadmill and give it a go there - so you can be sure of your purchase. I've the Nimbus 25 also, and I think that these two shoes are a perfect combo. Nimbus of the easiest of days, the Superblast for everything else, and even for racing if someone is running up to 20 mins for 5k. Anything faster, then can then look for a specific race day shoe. Actually, that's thought, before my 100k review, I'll do a 5k race in them and compare them to the Metaspeed Edge (Paris).
@@theinconsequentialrunnerappreciate this, I have a current rotation of the Nimbus 25 and Novablast 4 but just preordered these to add in as my race day shoe for my upcoming half marathon in October and will be. Great trainer leading up to my full marathon in March! Excited to rack up miles in the SB2
I use stability shoes for my recovery and long run but run half marathons and lots of training in the superblast.... They fit in the stable neutral cross category... The 2 needs far less break in time than the 1.... SB 1 was maybe 50 to 60km to break in but these are more like 20km and regardless they are so light but with so much stack ... Best training shoe on the market by far ... ASICS nailed it again
Thank you for such informative video! Just checked both my SuperBlast pairs and both are authentic. I am only running wearing SuperBlast and it’s a mission to buy them. First pair came from the USA and the second from Japan. I think it’s safe to buy from Japan, but not from China 😅
I’ve lots of respect for people that can do that. To help them to run so far every day with minimal damage they would have to - keep the intensity low and in the aerobic zone. Then it isn’t so damaging on the body. - prepare by training appropriately for many weeks beforehand. - be vigilant with rest, recovery and refuelling during, before and after each day - have a period of rest and recovery after they’ve finished the total event
Fascinating video, thanks so much! I have never tried the Superblast myself but have only heard great things and am looking forward to getting a pair one day!! I bought a cheap pair of Hoka Rocket X2 online and am truly worried they're fake though I've got nothing to compare them to unfortunately, haven't even taken them for a run yet, so hopefully some nice person will make a video one day!! For 18 months I was an English teacher in the province of China where 80% of Chinese shoes are produced. We visited factories where they would reproduce any shoe you wanted, any brand, and swore black and blue they were JUST as good as the original at about 1% of the price, if you bought a container load of them at a time of course!! Many local businessmen wanted to take us to visit factories and tried to talk us into doing business with them.🤷♀
@@timothymohammed919 yeah I'll change the title I think to better let people know. This is a much shorter version and timely with the Superblast 2 about to drop, so people might think Superblast 1 are on special, but they've been sold out for ages and what's out there for sale are more likely counterfeit.
Seriously, I thought the whole point of running shorts was that you run in them…and them alone. Not sure why you’d wear undies underneath (maybe the video will tell me…)
Haha, I know right re the unpacking. I just want to see (with all the quality we have in 1500m now for example) and unblocked sprint in the last 100 - with no one being hindered. But there's 0% chance of this. Ha, set up the camera in a different room - too boring?
The issue here was the chinese's ability to imitate these designs manufactured in their hometown... Why? Because the majority of our footwear are now manufactured in the East, specifically china. This was due to compensation for the inexpensive labor force. After being given the opportunity to reproduce those blueprints provided by these footwear firms like (HOKA, NIKE, ASICS, NEW BALANCE, SAUCONY, BROOKS, MIZUNO, ON, ALTRA, UNDER ARMOR, ADIDAS, REEBOK & PUMA, underground (illegal), unofficial or unregistered chinese manufacturers replicate these designs for profit and they primarily use localized and subpar raw materials to sell these products. Sigh..., such a shame! 😠 There are only two brands I know that were not officially manufactured in china namely: KARHU (Finland) & DIADORA (Italy). A business associate press from Kaohsiung, Taiwan revealed this hard fact
I also love this shoe in the US!, Used my Metaspped Edge + for a half recenlty but will use this for my Marathon in 3 months. It runs a little like the Asics metaspped edge plus but more forgiving..I would love to buy the new paris but it's $250 and I'm pretty happy with this, it's like a more stacked, with more drop version of the original Sky. Which I also really loved.
