Incredible condition car. Two thoughts… I’ve never seen such a stripped down GP, not raven a tinted windshield. Neat but it was but a shadow of the great GP’s of the 60’s.
About 4 years ago, I saw one of these driving on the highway. I hadn't seen one in years. The way the grille sticks out from the front end like that really stood out to me, as well as the tail light design. It was a 40 year old car at the time. It was well used. So different from the other more modern cars on the road. And a young woman was driving it. I couldn't figure out why a young woman would be driving a car that old. By the way - this car has no a/c - but has a vinyl interior - so if you use it much you might find you're a bit on the warm side.
you buy a car - drive it to your garage - never drive it anymore - wait 40 years - impress everybody .... oh wait? .... it's been done before? .... THE 1978 PACE CAR CORVETTE !!
It does not have a Tachometer. It should have a Tach , with that 4-speed transmission!. I had a 1980 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ . It had all Gauges, with a Tachometer. It also had the 301 Engine with the Electric control knock sensor . Where in your car you have a Clock. That is where my car had the Tachometer.
I had a 79 Grand Prix. Auto, of course. Black paint, steel honeycomb wheels with saddle buckets. Mine was full power and a landau top. It looks naked without the vinyl half top. The 301 was a dog. At 100k it didn't have enough compression to run the AC and turn the wheel at idle. My father had a used 305 put in when he handed it down to me. The power difference was night and day. Needless to say, I killed it. It was probably recycled into Ford Taurus.
My favorite brand of car. I want one of these so bad. I wish Pontiac was still in production. Why they stopped producing it along with Oldsmobile & Plymouth?
