Over 5 years ago, I started in the voice over business. I had been acting and teaching for over 20 years, but I was a "newbie" when it came to the industry. I had one goal ... BECOME A FULL-TIME VOICE-OVER ACTOR! Since that time, I have realized my dream, and now I am going after my second one... helping others accomplish theirs. Inspiring action is always at the heart of my beliefs, and my mom instilled that in me. She also taught me that if I wanted something bad enough, and if I didn't give up, I would accomplish it. I am here today as a full-time VO because of that. This channel is all about inspiring you to take action to accomplish your voice-over dream. I give tips and tricks with the mindset and business thrown in (I am a bit silly sometimes as well). Thank you for visiting my channel, and I look forward to growing with you. Honestly, why? Some of us have been in total 5r limbo for the last year. Ever time I see a 5r post now, it's like, really? I'll still give it thumbs, but just for you.
Thank you Rudy. I I think I also use the word "Gig" to speak in general terms, not just Fiverr. But I have heard many people in the same situation as you. Thank you always my friend.
@@AVOsJOURNEY And thank you, Anthony. You've always been a straight shooter. I just think this needs to be addressed by people with an audience. It's huge problem. Affecting probably thousands.
Yesss . I have elves but I hadn’t thought of all the other type of characters ! Can’t wait to try out a few ideas now to see if I can pull off some other character voices for holiday gigs
In terms of staying away from negativity, I’m not saying my mother is negative about me doing voiceover, but she sometimes tells me I should stop paying for VO sessions because they could be taking my money. For me, it’s just trying to find the best training that resonates with me the most.
Thanks for the nice content, I was level 2 freelancer at Fiverr and achieve all the task for top rated then my account became flagged due to some issue give me any advice.
Great to hear the audiobooks is picking up for you. Just wondered if you plan on PFH instead of just royalty share. From what I have heard it's hard to make a living on royalty share.
When I was creating my profile for Fiverr they want my professional history. There is no spot for Telehealth nursing and that is a mandatory field. This is my first time putting myself out there. What should I put in that field?
Hi, Anthony that was some awesome advice you gave on how to set the mood in a read that will help us format our auditions in our audiobooks or any type of genre. I'm getting to do a commercial read and I'm feeling very confident, thank you ❤😊!
is there any way we can talk, like on discord or anything, i'm a french guy with a really deep voice and i'v been wanting to start voice acting / doing voice over for a while now, and i'm just getting started, i'd appreciate some advice from you and how to start / where to start.
I'm on the verge of getting into VO. I have the hardware and software as I've recently picked up being the lead vocalist in a "rock" band but don't know about EQ and audio dynamics of VO. I can record fine but don't know about the business end of VO. As always, you're super inspirational!
Wow, i love your positivity! Ive always dreamed of doing some voice work. Everyone in my life has always said i have a radio voice and should be talking for a living. Any advice for getting started? A first step? ❤
Good morning Anthony! After you said coffee time, I yelled out COFFFEEEE TIMMMEEE! I made myself giggle lol. I'm here to say thank you for all your coffee times... it's a part of my morning routine and helps keep me motivated. I also agree that a website is not necessary at the beginning. I've gotten some momentum and now that I have a portfolio I can focus on starting a website. I think it's all about priorities when it comes to using your budget wisely. My budget is extremely low unfortunately, but progress is progress! Keep your focus no matter the struggle... that's been my moto over the last couple months since my health issue popped up. Wishing you all the best always... and thanks again for your great content and your kindness!!!
I've decided to create my own projects, unpaid obviously, but I figured it will help me to get good experience in both voice acting, and producing. So far 4 chapters done and another 33 to go.
I’m not facing potholes but ditches on my road. I’m getting frustrated with trying to find the time to pursue because I know I’ll potentially make money, but when I need to make money now I have to sacrifice the thing I want to do after my full time job and drive Lyft/Uber/GH to do make money now just to survive. I feel really defeated anymore that i can’t pursue voice acting like I want to.
I’m in the same boat,. started VO just over a year ago, I try to make it a point to do at least a few auditions a day. I’d love to quit the day job and do VO full time but getting VO to meet and or exceed my current salary would be quite a feat. Where there’s a will there’s a way but that doesn’t mean it’s easy.
Try to think of it as somethjng that can grow in the long run. Businesses start from small things, we dont earn in the beginning but if people like what we sell, by word of mouth people will hear about us and will start ordering. This is not a typical 8-5 job. Hang in there, treat this voice over like when yoire a student, you find time to study. Set aside a time even an hour for your voice over. You will reap the results someday.
thanks.. failure.. got that:))..it's audio that's driving me the most nuts, right now.. My Sound engineer friend says I'm nuts and she hears nothing. But, when I turn up the volume super loud on my tracks I hear smacking.. she said, stop turning it up!" ha ha, but to me it ought to be more clean BEFORE all the clean up:)).. right?!
Just discovered your channel recently. I want to be a voice actor so badly. But it seems incredibly daunting. At least getting started, and especially being broke. So much to consider, so much to learn to even begin to try. But videos like yours make it a little easier, a little lighter. I just thought you should know that. I also wanted to say thank you!
Plus, every time you change some thing in your recording space your sound settings may change. If you change a microphone or if you change your earphones or add or something big from your space. You need to make sure your audio settings adapt to that new sound. Thank you, Anthony. You are absolutely correct. You always put things in perspective.
_// Thanks for sharing the video! Let me tell you something important: God loves you! God loves us ! He is no respecter of persons! because God wants us all to be saved! and let's go to the knowledge of the “Truth” God wants to save us from eternal damnation, which we all deserve because of sin, who entered the world through Adam, and death entered through sin, and thus death passed to all human beings, Therefore, we are all “Sinners” But God's Love was so great for us, that he sent his only Son (Jesus Christ), gave him to this world, to die and rise for all of us! No Respect of Persons! so that everyone who believes in Jesus Christ does not go to eternal punishment, but rather has “Eternal Life!” “ Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures; and he was buried, and rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures Jesus Christ came to call sinners to “Repentance! “ and, he who believes in Him, has “Eternal Life! “But whoever refuses to believe in Jesus Christ, the wrath of God remains on him. Then, as through Adam's transgression, condemnation came to all human beings, in the same way, through the justice of Jesus Christ, justification of life came to all human beings! All of us who believe in The Only Savior of the world! The Only Mediator between God and us! The Lord Jesus Christ! The son of God! All of us who trust in Him; we have “Eternal Life! “ And we must know that there is salvation in no one else; because there is no other name under heaven, given to human beings, in which we can be saved. Only by Believing/Trusting in “Jesus Christ” can we be Saved! But Jesus Christ also said: Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Therefore, we must be doers of the Word of God! and not only listeners and/or readers, deceiving ourselves. So let's read the Word of God! There is His Will! what God wants us to do! Let us read mainly the Gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and let us pray to God, our Heavenly Father, all the days of the life that He gave us! God loves you! God loves us! To Him alone be the Glory Forever! Amen! Anthony - I have a topic for you -- exclusive vs non exclusive rights. I just discovered a buyer on Fiverr might be selling my voice over recordings on Upwork and I'm curious how I can better protect myself or word things in 'requirements' to protect myself. can I maintain rights to my recordings with a non exclusive license? Should I make a clause about 'intended use?' no language learning, resale, etc... Would love your take on this. Thanks! You're the best and I'll try to attend the Seminar (for replay for us Europeans - terrible times booked for us) 🙈😩 Thanks as always
