iIfound this very interesting, time has changed throughout the years, technology has taken over learning. This is not bad but it creates shortcuts to learning. AS OPPOSED TO HANDS ON. I find it very beneficial in the scope of learning
Can I make a shortcut on my kindergarteners chromebooks so that they can click on that and it will open up the website page with their symbaloo web mix links?
This is the closest to real-life experience I have seen since researching the Hofstede framework, thanks. One question, what qualities would you like to see in a manager from US going to manage a business in Japan
As a college student majoring in communication, this is very helpful. Thank you so much for this lecture! Hope to see more videos based on this topic in the future.
It's rather odd that despite their xenophobic or racially homogenous tendencies, some Western tech like the iPhone were received quite well to the point that iOS is more favoured in Japan partly due to Steve Jobs being a weeb. Those who used to make garakei tried to compete by releasing Android models but failed to steal the thunder off Apple. Inversely, the Xbox never gained traction in Japan for some reason. Some say it's due to how big the OG Xbox is, others say it's nationalistic sentiment, but overall it's moot.
Thanks for adding to this discussion! In the case of the iPhone, maybe there are a couple of factors that helped. 1. The global networks of scale that systems only in Japan can not compete (similar to Facebook v. Mixi) 2. The design asthenic is very Zen and user centric, which in my opinion many tech designers in Japan have had a hard time with or at least in the corporate circles. Thoughts?
@@TogetherLearning Good call on that one. As I mentioned earlier, Steve Jobs was very much into Japanese culture so that may have factored in with the iPhone's design.
The amount of good to bad online is the same in real life. The platform economy is alot like cartels supplying stupid dealers with hard to make knowledge products. 99% are hustlers and "street level" thugs. And the ecology is based on earning the trust of the top egos by "pranks".
Amazing content and video !! I really wish you explained more in-depth the theory on how new media doesn't destroy/replace old media, but how they adapt and learn to co-exist next to each other. :))) love this video altogether. Thank you
This is a beautiful comment and much thanks for rephrasing the points in the video. You and others are inspiring me to continue making videos on this topic.
