Hang on so? you used a piston engine to pump air into a compression tank and then you used it to run air through this engine? Seems counter intuititive? Whats the point in having a an engine run from compressed air when you need a regular single value piston to pump more air back into the tank hahahaha i don't understand why you would waste your time making these? when a regular air compressor does the same thing hahahahahahahahahhaa

Its less about that and more about having things they can use off-grid. For example; They can and do use windmills in order to compress and store air- which can then be used later to power a motor such as this for various needs. All "off grid" methods of utilizing various forms of power without connecting to main city lines.
Amish lifestyle is less about "No technology ever!" and more about a desire to live as "off grid" as possible. Many are fine to use simple machines, but they typically tend to prefer simple machines they can maintain/utilize with what they can make/grow/use on their land. For example: Its not uncommon to see windmills powering compressors so they can store compressed air. Yes its still a "modern" tool, but theyre not connecting to city infrastructure or anything like that to maintain/operate it- such as tools or things that would genuinely require they attach to the city power grid.

A lot of people diss the Amish for their choice of lifestyle, but personally I really respect the dedication to a set of ideals. And, if nothing else, the Amish will be able to pick up the pieces of our civilization if we ever get hit with a big CME, EMP attack, or something like that.

Its less about "eww technology bad!" and more about a desire to live "simple" and typically "off grid". In such cases theyre not needed to connect to a cities power grid for example- and have their own means to compress/store air on their land.
amish are just dumb people. the idea originally was technology is evil and forms unhealthy habits. Amish inventions are no different then modern tech. You can live like an amish person and still be a part of greater society. all you would have to do is work somewhere, cook fresh produce for your meals, and enjoy your social life my gawd, its almost as if we are living the same lives. The only difference being the use of the internet, or buying more things than you need in life. this makes amish people stupid in my eyes. the problems they are trying to avoid are very easy to solve.
