How could you sleep at night, doing that lack of craftsmanship! Shame on the people who did that. As a customer do your research on the type of work you are having done so you know what to look for as far as quality and craftsmanship!! So you don't get taken to the cleaners, plus you know why things cost as much as they do for quality work. Stop in from time to time to inspect work being done.
Have you checked your datum and center line need a good set of old school frame gauges this is the first thing I do. Might be able to find the frame specs online for frame set up!
Great job and good description , explanation and demonstration , thanks, if you could do a follow up showing how you shorten the half shafts that would be great .
I appreciate what you do I love building cars but I'm not a welder. So if I need something welded I'll take it to a pro if I need my engine built I'll take it to a pro everything else I can do and if I can't I'll take it to a pro😊
I just found your channel this morning. I'm excited to start watching all of your videos. It's always great to see professionals that look out for their customer. Integrity.
Dam, it's like looking back on my life watching this video, the 34 Ford truck reminds me of my old 36 Plymouth truck I see you guys hanging sheet metal downtown and I think of a job I did in Hollywood when I worked for All Around Sheet Metal, I also sheet metaled a bunch of roofs in an arcade at Magic Moutain Valencia, that old 49 takes me back to my first car, a 1950 Chevy Delux 350 3 speed, but mine was a torpedo back, then that supper clean 71 1/2 ton chevy truck, I had one with a 307 2 burrel 2 wheel drive.
Barry Gilgen love your videos just not enough of them, like the older street rods you guys do, I built a 1931 coupe years ago, and have had several over the years, you do great work and looks like people can depend on your honesty and good work, no doubt you know what your doing, keep up the videos I know they are a lot of work and take time but people enjoy them

I study all the work by people like Mike Bello, Chad Hiltz, Gene Winfield, George Barris, Chip Foose, etc.. if you ever need an extra hand with anything Sanding, prep, please reach out, i would feel privileged to volunteer and simply have an opportunity to be a fly on the wall absolutely !!! Serious love and respect goes out to all of you !!! Hope to see more stuff asap !!! My dream car is a 64 impala rag, finding one beat up that I can fix up is my main life goal, I’ve done Dj work for years but after 20 years or so it wears on one’s mental health and that’s why I’m changing my path.. thanks for all this effort. I appreciate it. - Greezy.
Blown away by your comment. Thanks you for taking the time to write us. So glad we can connect with people like you that are passionate about cars like we are! And that would be awesome, we’d love to have you down! What time period of cars do you have experience with? Thanks for commenting, so glad you’ve been enjoying the content and learning more.
@@LocoCustoms I’ve owned (3) 64 chevys, (2)-4 doors & (1) 2 door hardtop (1) 56 Buick special, (1) 74 Buick Apollo and back when I owned them I had zero knowledge about anything, and would become depressed thinking I could never have my car become nice because didn’t know how to do the work never being in a position to hire a shop for anything, I was an idiot and sold them, regretted it ever since. Honestly My hands on experience doing actual builds is very limited. But gaining knowledge on processes is something I’ve been doing for quite some time in regards to metal work, body work, learning materials and the order in which they are used, blocking techniques, knowing the differences inbetween different fillers and primers and their applications, suspension types, frame and suspension modifications etc.. I’ve just never had any opportunity to apply what I’ve studied on an actual build. I’ve been a nightclub professional for well over 20 years and didn’t realize until I took a hiatus how much being in that environment for so long damaged my mental health so this love I’ve had for cars my whole life I’ve now made my main focus. I am knowledged to know things like for example, gussets, fishplates, lightweight versus polyester fillers versus glass fillers, mig versus TIG versus flux, solvent based materials versus water based, pinion angle variations concerning lowered or raised suspensions.. etc.. and I have absolutely no ego, and I would love any opportunity to learn as much as I can absolutely. I’m trying to become proficient enough at enough things to have an opportunity to find myself my 64 convertible and do enough enough work for other people to where I can build up to owning one and possibly excel past the level of success I reached working in nightclubs, which when I stopped 2 years ago I was managing 2 clubs in Portland with a roster of over 40 people at each location, including vendors, contractors etc.. I’ve basically shifted my attention for details to car work because of those reasons I mentioned before. So again feel free to reach out to me at any time, my instagram is @wrongthingz and I’d feel blessed to contribute to any situation. God Bless . 💯 I don’t believe in grunt work, every job is important as it is crucial. Love goes out.
Amen. These patina folks I think just are afraid of making the sacrifice required to put in the work needed for a nice paint job, then play it off like they like the look of a rig being rusted out.. rat rods same thing, they’d rather throw junk on their ride instead of getting the required parts to do the job right.. they ain’t fooling this guy.. put in the work, make the sacrifice and show these classics the respect they deserve. 💯
Might just be a financial issue tho homie. Most people don't have 10k to 15k for a full paint job. Sometimes they go for more. So yea... just cheaper to throw some clear on it
@@demarques1911 understood, that being said I’m sure you have either seen or done amazing things with some cheap single stage, it’s the time involved in the prep is what most folks don’t want to bother with.. I’ve seen beautiful jobs get done with simple Restolium from tractor supply… and if a guy just got a old hood and practiced, he could lay something very nice and acceptable no doubt. 💯
Wow! That’s the twin of my ‘54 coe, I’m as well fitting it to a 1977 Chevy 3500 dually chassis With a 383 stroke. 20” wheels and air bagged. Just starting to fit the body on the frame and fabrication of the body mounts. Hope to see more on your truck, thanks for the video
