We are a cantina band of scum and silliny found at port-haven.com. Drop by and say hi! We talk about OG Star Wars, New U Star Wars, Legends Star Wars, anything that has Star Wars printed on it! And a few non-Star Wars things too. We're keeping the tradition of internet forums alive one thread at a time.
Hey seriously thanks I've been putting off reading this series for YEARS because I was under the impression Id have to read dozens of other books that I wasn't as excited to get into. You deserve way more recognition for this video. I hope you have another similar video so I can jump in to fate of the Jedi and experience Abeloth
I've only read the Thrawn Trilogy and "Darth Plagueis" so far (recently revisited the EU for the first time). I was stumped on what series of books to read next (aside from the Bane Trilogy). By chance, I came across the first four books for this series yesterday. However, I was not sure what I had found, or if it was considered as important or stand-alone. This video remedied those worries, so thanks alot!! May the peace be with you.
Thank you for being positive about resistance, giving your fair share of pros and cons I really like this show, and this is coming from a young adult I’m tired of people hating on this show when they haven’t even seen it (I feel like it’s a similar situation to the high republic being “sjw”) The season 2 finale was definitely my favourite of the entire series, amazing pacing, characters, emotion, action and animation (I always liked the animation of resistance, and kinda like clone wars and rebels i felt like it got better as the show went on) My only 2 small complaints with these 2 last episodes : 1. Nobody was killed, and even when Pyre and Rucklin were killed, it was off screen, and none of the names good guys died (remember how Hype Fazon was selfish at the start of the season, well maybe to conclude his arc have him sacrafice himself to protect the bridge of the Colossus from first order bombers, or just have at least 1 of the aces or even Hugh Sion, 1 of the resistance pilots with Venisa sacrifice himself, paralleling how Kaz opted to sacrifice himself for him in the pilot), point is I wish at least 1 / 2 good guys died, I guess Commander Pyre did have a cool final moment, but I feel like CB - 23 should’ve remained dead 2. Not really a complaint but I wanted to mention I wish there was an end credits scene where Doza and Venisa get a distress call and it’s Lando gathering a fleet for Exegol, and Lando and Venisa recognise each other from the rebellion and come to their cooordiantes and ready for action, and Tam gets her own personal starfighter, which is something she’s wanted for the entire show, and the credits roll as they emerge into Exegols atmosphere taking down tie daggers, or maybe that should be it’s own episode, but instead of being apart of season 2 it’s like an epilogue episode 40 mins long, and at the battle of exegol we have some of the aces die I know I’m being very specific and mean, but these are 2 small grips for 2 episodes i love to death In my opinion these 2 episodes felt like a series finale, it didn’t feel like resistance was cancelled, it ended on its own terms I mean I would’ve made a sequel or season 3 after episode 9 with these characters Yeager, Agent Tierny and Tam were my favourites
Hello! I took a mental break that was supposed to just be over the summer and it’s turned out to be much longer. I hope to be back at some point ... I just don’t know when that’s going to be. I appreciate you asking and I’m sorry I didn’t get to some of your comments for a while.
Just to let u guys know there is an updated video on this so I would recommend watching this and the updated one it came out in March 2020 so no high republic but still up to date like with all the prequel Novels
Also Star Wars Refuge (sorry don’t know your first name) will you make an updated video with the high republic books as I’m confused on what to do when I get to there
Sorry, I’m just seeing this! With High Republic it’s all about how much do you want to read. Del Rey does the regular novels and Disney publishing does the YA and middle grade books, so a timeline is harder to do. Plus comics! Generally, read the Del Rey novel from any particular wave first. I.E. read Light of the Jedi or Rising Storm first. Some events in books take place at the same time, but the Del Rey books will have the biggest twists and turns. Then go middle grade, then YA. The comics will take place around the same time as the books, but often you’re clear to read them at any point/order within the wave you’re on. Tempest Runner (the audio drama) takes place as the end of wave two (so after Out of the Shadows). It’s an outlier since there’s only one so far.
Could anyone give me a summary for this book? Like, I don't want to buy it, and if any of you could just tell me what happened in this particular book, I would appreciate it. Can't even find any spoilers when you're LOOKING FOR THEM.
This is a great video for those who may not want to read the Bantam era of Star Wars novels, but I would personally still recommend every newcomer to the EU to read all of the stories that take place before the NJO and after ROTJ. Not only do they have a huge impact in the NJO story as shown in the video above, but they're just great, fun stories about old and new heroes alike. Trust me, you won't regret reading those books.
@@alenjoju2661 Chronologically, the first story is the Truce at Bakura, but I highly recommend not starting there. Start at Zahn's Thrawn trilogy. It's a perfect hook for an amazing story.
How about someone who grew up on the original trilogy. Seen the prequels, they have grown on me with time, saw The Force Awakens and realized Disney completely destroyed what George Lucas tried to destroy. Where do I start???
Started reading my first star wars book. Startes with revan, one of the old republic Books. Really like it so far. Started with this book because revan is one of my favourite characters. Not sure if he has become Canon but hope he does
Hey, I know I already asked a question but I was just wondering that if I wanted to read revenge of the Sith, should I read the whole prequel trilogy in order or can you just read rots? Thanks!
Sorry this is so late, I’m on a break right now. So hopefully you have read it instead of waiting lol but all movie novelizations can be read in any order as long as you’ve seen the movies that would be leading up to whatever movie novel you’re reading.
Thanks, Jess! I squealed with laughter when you characterized the role of 'Mace Windu' as "cranky-pants" in this novel... hilarious, yet accurate. 😆 I sure hope we get a visual representation of the Mahran species someday.
I would never want to make the choice to execute someone, let alone make someone else make that choice. But I agree that Mace needed to bring up the option.
