Just want to mention. Beerus knew this trick, that is why Beerus was worried why he didn't control the Spirit bomb. Even though, when Goku fought him as Super Saiyan God and somehow managed to control the final blast attack from Beerus. Which even shocked and left Beerus with some many questions.
I wouldnt say they stood in respect for Goku but more in awe or shock that a mortal had achieved something that they trained for for many years and could not reach it.

It's last arc i'm anime DB Super (episodes) named "tournament of power", at least if i remember it good.. movies goes further making apperance of Brolly a canon, and a superhero movie where Piccolo (propably) got his full potential unlocked, with something little more (Shenron said that he will add something more beyond unlocking potential, as a Bonus [idk maybe Shenron offers a Bonus after 15-20 conjurings, or just thing that Piccolo is reincarnation of gumy who make Shenron's Balls ])
I love when beerus says "here it comes..." knowing what it's like to fight goku. That moment when he is on his last legs and has no hope of victory? Goku delivers, every, damn, time.
Cell aside, doesn't black also beat goku, and only because of some time travelling shenanigans do the z fighters come out on top, and only thanks to beerus and zeno anyway
In neither of those instances was goku on his last legs. He withdrew from his fight with cell because the best he could do was fight to a draw and you would have to be specific about when he fought black. Also, if I'm not mistaken, black only exists in the first place because of time traveling shenanigans.... soooooooooo even steven. But I will amend my earlier statement, goku delivers ALMOST every damn time. 😐
It's funny because the only thing that holds Goku back from getting stronger, is the fact that he doesn't know that he can get stronger until he sees someone else do it. He achieved all this strength in an extremely short amount of time.
It's not that at all, he's just unable to push himself to that limit to become stronger unless he's facing an opponent above him. He doesn't lack the will or knowledge, he just lacks the challenge to push himself over that edge, which is why he's constantly looking for strong fighters who can give him a challenge
More accurately, I don't think Goku knows how to get stronger efficiently (the same goes to Vegeta). He only knows strength training. He doesn't understand how much involvement his mental state has on his power, which is why half Saiyans get theirs even quicker: humans are more in-tune with their emotions and mindsets. So the best ways Goku knows how to improve his own strength is by witnessing it from others and/or fighting them to know what he must do to reach or exceed their levels
@@labreynththis has actually been proven wrong many times, while vegeta was trying to get ssj2, goku mastered ssj and was stronger. he is the definition of work harder, not smarter. if he only cared about strength, ultra instinct wouldnt have been a thing since you need to train how to stay calm and let your heart like be still iirc. he started learning ultra instinct through master yoshi long ago so he actually cared about mental training since the start.
For everyone who doesn't understand or just being a hater all of the destroyers doesn't see anyone as a threat except GP and zeno so when they saw Goku in UI knowing that this surpassed them they all stood up in respect for Goku achieving something they could not
No not really, during Tournament of Power, Universe 1 Kai said that UI is an elite level of power that is "difficult" to attain even for destroyers. Difficult being the keyword here, and loosely translated "difficult" in Dragon ball super universe means totally possible to achieve. That means there is a very good chance all destroyers have already mastered UI since by default destroyers are the top most guns of their respective universes and since they live for eternity they have unlimited time to master it. Hence all of them stood up only out of respect for Goku for achieving something that's next to impossible for a mere mortal since mortals are obviously multifolds weaker than gods and mortals don't have the liberty of time since they die hence to achieve something like mastered UI in a single lifetime is something to be applauded hence they stood up. Also since we already concluded all destroyers have mastered UI that means they must have pretty good control over it as opposed to Goku who just recently attained that and he could only hold the form for only couple of minutes. Hence its highly unlikely Goku surpassed any of the destroyers even in mastered UI. This can also be seen with the slight grin of Beerus when Goku achieved MUI, Beerus was proud but jealous of Goku that a mere mortal could achieve such power however if you carefully see he doesn't have even the slightest of fear that Goku has become a serious contender for him because Beerus never really showed anyone in the entire series his full power, he barely went 60% when Goku turned into ssj god, Goku was literally a god and had god level power but still could not force Beerus to use more than 60% energy.

Gokus pure innocence made a destroyer fall privy to the same thing that all Gokus other opponents fell to. Friendship. Unlike the others Goku didn’t need to show mercy to Beerus because he was so outclassed. But after seeing everything Goku is able to do and since Goku isn’t really afraid of Beerus…it almost sounds like Beerus cares. I think Whis also sees that. Especially after befriending Goku himself.
