This is so cruel! Dont let the bat hang on your hand like that and put it on the floor! They are screaming for help and trying to find something to hang on! They are wild animals and you cant keeo them as pets! This bat is so damaged at the wings! And dont slap the baby bat like that! Thats animal abuse!
This is an obvious case of animal abuse. Bats should never be kept as "pets". Flying foxes in particular are EXTREMELY social, they live in colonies that have thousands of individuals. They need to be fed a varied diet of fruits and vegetables (with vitamin and nutrient supplements, the plants they have in the wild are much more potent than ours) and an aviary to fly in. The fact that this bat is being kept completely alone, fed an improper diet (a mango on a wire is not nearly enough to meet their nutritional requirements), being kept in a disturbingly small cage, and presumably being physically abused, it's hard to believe the bat survived for 9 years. Bats are intelligent creatures. They don't deserve to be hit, shaken, neglected, and effectively starved as was showed in this video. That animal would have been better off dying by his mother's side instead of receiving this kind of torment for years.

Actually, it wouldn’t. Fruit bats naturally live up to 30 years in the wild, not 9 years. It’s extremely cruel to keep a bat. This bat can barely stretch it’s wings out, can’t be with it’s colony or do it’s job in the wild.
