UPDATE 8/2022
We recently had the oppertunaty to buy a farm in dire need of some love! It's always been a dream of mine to live on a farm so we took the plunge. I plan to do regular updates and progress videos. Something to share with my grandkids and eventually their kids. Even in you 60's you can chase your dreams.
Original channel description 6/2021 In working with animals my entire life. I've decided to start sharing things that happen in my life with dogs, horses, Katahdin Sheep, ducks, fancy pigeons and chickens. I may even add some dog grooming and gardening videos! I'm not an expert on anything, however, I do enjoy sharing.
I will hopefully improve on my video and editing skills as time goes by.
Hello, please can you tell where you live no that i have anything to do with you, but i want to know in wich country these bautiful pigeons are found please give me a coment
I use an old Styrofoam Little Giant incubator. I turn the eggs by hand. I keep the gutters filled with water throughout incubation. The only thing I change at the end, is I keep the lid closed as much as possible to maintain the humidity high and don't turn the eggs past day 18.
Pretty herd. Love the katahdin dorper crosses. And the fantails! I had a flock of garden fantails awhile back that I loved. Had horrible problems with rats killing them so had to rehome my flock. Question from a new subscriber- where are you located in the US and what varieties of grass are you grazing your sheep on? Mine won’t touch the warm season grass I have.
Hello! Thank you for your nice comments! Our flock consists of mostly commercial Katahdin, with only 3 Katahdin x Dorper ewe lambs I've introduced this year. (I just love the black and white and mostly keep those in my flock ... even though there are a few other colors.) I'm located in Ohio. Our pasture is mostly orchard grass and timothy. I, too, adore the Fantails! They are beautiful and so calming to watch. Do you have Katahdin sheep also?
You and Dave have created an amazing life. I really enjoyed watching pasture and swing shenanigans. So the pigeons spend their days doing pigeons things and then go to a secured enclosure for the night?
Thank you, Laura! Yes, the pigeons have their own room in the chicken house. They put themselves to bed at night like a chicken, and I close and lock their door once they are tucked in for the night.
@@FifeFarm They don't have any interest in flying the coop and getting lost? Peace fills my mind everytime I watch Fife Farming Flawlessly 🌱💚🌾🌳🐶🐎🐑🦙🐓🐔🦆🦃🐣🐐
Boy, this makes me flash back to the farm: especially those birds at 23:21. I love the dalmatian chickens- both pouf and non-pouf! Indian Runner ducks are cute too, but geese are scary. Those things are HUGE!!!
