Right opposite the train station is the building that was the old jail house, it replaced the old gate house Gaol opposite the abbey . The old gates are those used in opening scenes of the prison comedy Porridge . Outside there's an old cannon ( found in the ground during building work) originally 32lb smoothbore 1840 , later rebored and rifled to fire 64lb 1877 .. Its worth spending 10 mins looking around, at the back is an old water fountain with a sculpture that surprises everyone ( inc myself) the first time I saw it .
Oops! Please allow me to make an important correction. Matsumoto Castle has one of the 12 surviving wooden keeps in Japan. There are thousands of castles in Japan and many that still have wooden buildings like places, turrets and gates from the Edo period or earlier. Nijo Castle in Kyoto is a great example. But only 12 keeps (donjon) remain that date before 1868. The other keeps that we can see today are modern reconstructions. Unfortunately, many people, both Japanese and foreign, make the mistake of claiming that here are "12 original castles". It's been very widely published, so no blame to Svenywhere for repeating it again here.

Nu ben ik opzoek naar een goed en betrouwbaar verhuurbedrijf voor autos. Heb jij hier ervaring mee op het eiland en weet jij of de spaanse bedrijven te vertrouwen zijn? Alvast bedankt
Hi Daphne, de auto op Gran Canaria was voor ons geregeld. Echter op Tenerife hadden we het zelf gehuurd en het zal niet heel anders zijn. Gebruik een vergelijkingssite zoals rentalcars.com, kijk welke een beetje goed beoordeeld worden en vaak is het het goedkoopste om het daar ook meteen te boeken maar voor de zekerheid kun je ook even bij de aanbieders op hun eigen website kijken. Natuurlijk tijdens het huren maak foto's van alles voordat je vertrekt en in principe zou je geen problemen moeten hebben als je de auto terug brengt. Het is niet anders dan in elk ander land wanneer je een auto huurt.
Absolutely: On the North Coast never swim where there are no Lifeguards, most of the popular beaches are Surf Beaches and have very strong Rip Tides / Currents. The Lifeguards are extremely good and Flag off areas for swimming and separate areas for Surfing, always pay attention to them. The Beaches on the north coast also have the little fish called The Weaver Fish that live in the shallows under the sand, their sting is extremely painful so be aware, Jelly Shoes or Deck Shoes are a good idea when Paddling. The south coast beaches are much safer and therefore there are less Lifeguards if any and very very few Weaver Fish. Yes Lands End is a ripoff, you are must better off going to Cape Cornwall less than a mile away, or visit Lizard Point the most southerly point. Best wether is between June & September, because of the Gulfstream and sticking out into the north Atlantic the weather can change rapidly but there are plenty of things to do on a wet day. 5 million holidaymakers a year can't be wrong.
Just OK. What does that even mean? I'll be living on the coast from next year on and I've already the feeling Murcia is totally going to be my kind of town: authentic, enjoyable, easy going. Perfect for a day out, a restaurant or a nice evening enjoying a drink and good company. Not too many tourists? Suits me perfectly. ;-)
That means I can imagine it is indeed a perfect place for living. Nice relaxed place and not overcrowded with tourists. However, if you are in Spain and haven't visited a lot of places in Spain, the city itself has not enough to offer to really entertain you for a full day. However, having said that, the stories about the surrounding areas and outdoor activities you can do sound very attractive and unfortunately I didn't have time for that.
Thank you and you're welcome. Definitely something you need to double check before going. But in the end it turned out pretty well in terms of convenient of travel and being able to stay in hostels in the city centre without wondering about parking.
What so sacarstic is the meat eating Dalai Lama who still practicing killing in his normal could leave a peaceful words in front of the war museum. According to Buddhism wars are caused by killing of sentient beings! Why a master doesn't understand it😂!

Tanto los que hablan mal de Gran Canaria y los que hablan mal de Tenerife. Seguro no conocen bien las dos islas. Cada una tiene lo suyo, Tenerife es más verde y tiene el Teide y Gran Canaria tiene mejores playas y ciudad. Las dos son bonitas. No sean pueblerinos. No se trta de una guerra Villa arriba y Villa abajo. Cada isla es diferente y ni mejor ni peor. Fuerteventura las mejires playas. Lanzarote playas y un espectacular paisaje volcánico. La Graciosa playas y tranquilidad para desconectar. Gran Canaria y Tenerife las mas completas. La Palma muy verde y tranquila. La Gormera tambuen verde con el Garajonay. El Hierro diferente magia las calas y paisajes. No sean toletes y dejen de comparar . A cada uno le gustará una isla mas que otras. respeto para todas❤
I am in the middle of a nightmare situation as a guest on Airbnb. My stay ended in March but the host is a nightmare, making false claims that I owe her money for damages for things that were not damaged and for things that were not working well when we got there and we complained to her. There are other false claims as well. Airbnb continues to allow her to make new requests for money even after I decline. We are on our fourth request. Even after blocking her I am still getting new requests. I sent complaint to BBB but I don't know if Airbnb will take it seriously. What is more, I later found out that some of my friends grew up with the host and they said that she is toxic, even her own mother is scared of her. Host is a judge so I looked her up and found several negative articles proving that she is not a trustworthy person. I would like to never use Airbnb again, but we both work from home. Does anyone have any ideas what to do in that situation. We both need separate rooms
