Hi, Tom Slick here.New to RC's as of 12-18-22. So really not a how to do it channel but a how I'm learning to do it channel. I hope to bring you along to see and learn about this fun RC adventure that's in store for me and YOU!!! Thanks appreciate ya all. UPDATE 8-4-23 I'm finding that I'm being drawn to RC Crawling and Oval Racing, this is putting the biggest smiles on my face, so that's where I'll be focusing on bringing you all coverages for now. Thanks, appreciate ya all
@Holmanrc thank you, D.J.. the track at Cedar Bluff RC Raceway was an experience like the movie Field of Dreams!! rc track at edge of a farm field in Illinois. Great facility
@Ultegra10SPD Yeah, you're right. I think Adam was comparing it to the S.C. B-Mods that we run with. Wasn't made clear in video. That's closer to where this body belongs or mwm imo. JS. Thanks for checking it out
@Holmanrc yep, you should see it later in the evening when moisture comes out from watering through night. I need to do some tuning on those rear shocks with springs or limiters maybe or move shocks out to farthest position on rear arms. May tyrn better with wheels on ground at end of straights, lol.I'm only a year into, but I'm starting to grasp oval track setup, just not when conditions change throughout night. We're gaining knowledge every Lap. Thanks for checking it out
I may not be there. I'm thinking of heading to a track in Illinois with a Countyline Raceway traveling crew. Unfortunately I don't have a car ready for over there so no racing but gathering content from a new area.
Thanks, D.J. the white car is driven by Ross May, owns McAllister Racing, and has won at the Chili Bowl. Several racers in the area do well down there also. So there's plenty of classes to pick from to find some elite level competition, freaking awesome Just curious, looking for a critique. Was the multi camera angle any good or did it make things seem busy because of short Lap time
@Holmanrc right on. Full length race? or 15 or 60 second shorts? I'm just trying to give the people what they want, lol. I'll work on those. Thanks for checking it out
These cars are all over the place. I know rubbing is racing but when racers can’t control their cars it makes it less fun. Control beats speed every time!!
Thanks, D.J. that's my #19 Mudboss giving a smackdown!! If you get bored, check out rcscoringpro.com.for results Countyline Raceway. I'll have the B-MODIFIED race. A-Main up later this week. For a crippled handed dude, I'm starting to figure stuff out. T. Summers if you're checking times, lol. As always, thanks for checking it out. Just noticed the channel name change, very cool
Tell me about it!! I'm at the far end corner marshaling and I only have 1 good functioning arm/hand they had me head on a swivel. And these are supposed to be advanced drivers, LOL.
Thanks, Ty. I am enjoying the racing seen and enjoy putting the races up for these racers so their family and friends can see what we do. Thanks again for checking it out
Thanks, D.J. with my disability I can't race motorcycles anymore. But I found a new passion with the oval racing and putting the races up for all these racers to show their family and friends what we do. Thanks again for checking it out
Sorry bud, it is what it is. Stock Redcat Everest 10 axles, linkage, and shocks on a Buggy chassis. It now has desert lizard shocks and we're always looking for improvements for setup. Thanks for checking it out
Sorry bud, I'm not sure of the description on upgrades you're looking for. Video is more for the potential of a driving area. Have to pump trigger on the loose shale rock and leaves to keep up momentum to not get stuck. Thanks for checking it out
So these cars that you see in this video specifically are A modifieds, the car is bought separate from the bodies for both A and B modifieds. The bodies are made by several companies and all vary in shape and how they are put together. B modifieds are built from several different brands of 1/10th scale short course trucks for example the Traxxas slash or the team associated sc6. You buy a mounting kit that multiple companies make different versions of to mount the modified bodies. A modifieds like you see in this video are usually purpose built cars. They come from multiple companies for example plan b racing or gfrp. These cars usually have carbon fiber chassis and other parts and they have adjustable rear a arms to allow for toe(like rear steering that is locked in place) which allows them to take turns a lot faster than the b modifieds. A modifieds and B modifieds use the same bodies. These cars usually come with everything you need to mount the body straight onto the car after you build them. Some bodies come with their own bumpers in which you have to drill holes in to mount them to the car. If you have any questions feel free to ask me.
@jaysonschuldt4428 farmboy1410 gave an excellent detailed explanation. Thank you, Isaac. This young man is a great driver and rc mechanic. Check out my POV of his car at the track. Also always helpful in setting up cars at the races
Around my area B-mods use different body than A-mods but not a big race fan anymore, maybe it is only in my area but they shorter in length and taller on the drivers side rear end and they appear to have shorter wheel base BUT AGAIN I am No EXPERT, modifeds were not that popular in my area as they are now, but again that was that late 90s-early 2000s@@farmboy1410
at the time I preferred to watch Stock cars like the Montes, Regals, Cutlass, even back than they had 1-2 guys that used pick up bodies don't remember which one
