Great build. But I would like to hear the engine roar. Most videos do not end with engine sound, and thats about half the experience. Greetings from Sweden anyway. :-)

+pluret46 Thanks ! But to be honest, the sound on the video was nothing compere to the real sound so I dropt it :-) But trust me the roar is smooth ;-)

Hei, har en GSX400 som jeg tenker å bygge om til cafe racer. Hadde du villet dele litt info om hvor du har kjøpt deler og lignende fra? Må si du har gjort en god jobb med din GSX, ser smashing ut. Virkelig til god inspirasjon for oss andre cafe racer entusiaster.

Hi! What a great looking bike that is! I got two questions for you.. what kind of paint did you use to paint the engine? did you use any kind of primer? Where did you get that "wiring paper" ?
@narvelret3455
@narvelret3455 9 лет назад
+Markus Sallmen The wiring sheet I got from a search on the net, just looked for electrical datasheet for the bike ! I used a flat black motor paint for the motor (handles 650 C)

Did you convert this from shaft to chain? If so please massage me if love to do this to mine but can't find any info on how

Kraig Jaymz Bond This isa GS 750 and its chain drive from the start
@MrBondjaymzbond
@MrBondjaymzbond 9 лет назад
Narve Læret that's what I found after I sent the comment. My 79 gs 850 is shaft driven. I wrongly assumed the step down would be the same. Thanks for the reply any ways. You have a beautiful bike! Take care friend
@toddsmith7210
@toddsmith7210 9 лет назад
+Kraig Jaymz Bond Do you have an 850 GL? The "G" suffix typically meant it was shaft driven. I have an 82 GS 650 GL that's shaft driven. The standard "L" or "EL" would have been chain driven. Same goes for all the models 550-1100
@MrBondjaymzbond
@MrBondjaymzbond 9 лет назад
Yes I have a G and it is shaft driven.. I was wanting to convert it but have not come across a way to do it...when I get more time.. I will prob custom machine some parts and do it.

"Same goes for all the models 550-1100" The 850 is the one exception, all of those were shaft drive.

I think I can get the same gauges for ebay, I wonder if they are accurate, I'm afraid that the speedometer is not going to show the right speed since it doesn't say for what size wheel is made for. Thanks.

Narve Læret Thanks so much, I didn't know you can fit so much bigger tire on the original set, I have a 130/90-18 and it seems very close to the chain and swing arm.

We burnt the stubble and old branches when I worked in the country and constantly having to stomp knee high flames out in the summer when I was wearing shorts made my shins like leather.
