I'm a collector of various items from long ago, and love to repair them. Cassette tapes, 8 tracks, records, vintage electronics, vintage toys, you name it.
Wait so we've got a teacher, carpenter, cook, toy maker, policemen, plumber, mailman, doctor, baker, fireman, mother, and a musician.. Wheres the father ?
I wish there were still toys like this today. Now we have to keep buying batteries for everything! It would be so cool if hand-cranked mini organs made a comeback. The most similar things I grew up with were toy accordions.
the rubber belts inside turn to goop in the 60s ones, and now sone of the early 80s ones. It's a whole process, its very difficult and tedious to do, I've spent 4 years learning how to properly fix them. I wouldn't recommend trying to fix one if you don't know what you're doing. Mattel never intended for them to even last this long let alone someone trying to fix one, If you want to get into the hobby, I recommend fixing 70s to 80s ones , they're super easy.
I'll explain, so when i get it i do an initial cleaning, I made a special tool to break the character dial off, then i break the die cast spindle off \ yes you will need a doner see n say\ then I cut around the edges with a razer blade, then I get a wide spudger and a hammer and i go around the whole thing until its open, then the mechanism needs to be broken out because its glued, \everything is glued there's no screws\ everything is cleaned and re greased, I put the new belt in and reassemble everything and hope it works.
I'll see what I can do, I don't have that song, but maybe I can record it on cassette then put it in my 8 track to cassette adapter. If you want me to do this just know that the sound quality will be a bit lower because of how the adapter works and just how it is
the problem is i don't have any more to fix, i do have other see n say's other than the ones in the videos but there's already so many videos of them, I have a pull handle farmer says, a 1983 mother goose says/used the belt in another see n say\ a doctor dolittle see n say but the record is unusable, the talking picture puzzle im not going to mess with its in such good condition, I've got a bag of parts for my 60s collection if they ever need replacements, in terms of working see n say's, i've already made videos on them.
I have a Winnie the Pooh See N Say from the 70s thats exactly like the About My Work one. It doesn't work, you think you could repair it for me? I'd pay pretty good, no joke.
yes i do but i don't have the tape. But I have been looking for it and will post on it if I'm able to find it. Update, the dairy farming episode is already on youtube
I own a Dacora super Dignette too. I am currently shooting tests and will make a video about it soon. I use mine with an external rangefinder to make focusing a bit better and easier.
