I’m an Athiest, have been for a long time (a lot former Catholics like me are), but I still like Stryper. Don’t like the lyrics much, but those riffs and the vocals are awesome.
I was a kid in the 80’s and now middle aged, just like these guys questioning Gary Holt. It’s now kind of sad watching guys my age grill a guy who maybe has turned 25 about his lyrics. I knew as a teen not to kick in faces and rape and murder wives and so did just about anybody else. As far as these lyrics influencing people, anybody who would do such a thing after hearing lyrics like that already has issues to begin with and would wind up doing something crazy regardless. Meanwhile people like this about lyrics are probably going on their warmongering rant in the next segment.
If they really wanted to have a serious discussion, they should have gotten the album and read the lyrics. "Piranha" is tame compared to "No Love". Those words make me sick...but I love the sound.
My mom laughed at me when I said bands like Exodus, Overkill, Testament, Metallica, Anthrax, etc are just as relevant as the ‘50’s and 60’s music she grew up with, and will be around for more than a few years. That was in 1986......and honestly, it’s really amazing all these killer bands are still rocking 40+ years later!! She eventually came around to understanding the appeal of metal music and conceded I was right. She even came to an Ozzy Osbourne concert back in the ‘90’s and had a blast.
Guys gets into a relationship with a young (legal) woman, gets secretly recorded doing some (admittedly embarrassing) e-sex stuff with said woman, then gets fired from Megadeath. Ridiculous.
How could Kerry’s mindless noise solos work for Muistane? How could Muistane’s shreds solos work for megadeth main source of leads? It wouldn’t be megadeth.
one time when I saw Slayer I was in the front of the pit and Kerry's fingers started bleeding and in between songs he took some superglue out of his pocket, sealed up his fingers and kept going.
I respectfully do not believe him that Kerry picked up those songs that quick, he even stated in his video how he had to spend time to learn them and he was overwhelmed and nervous as hell
Lol, Ellefson is too nice, to tell the real reason. Kerry couldn't stand Mustaine and he also realized that Mustaine's style wasn't the style of playing he was into and didn't get it, so he left because he thought he was better suited to Slayer.
Yeah, I'm in awe of a number of solos Kerry has played over the years even outside of Slayer. Of course "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" by the Beastie Boys is of note but I love his solos on "War Ensemble" and "Die By The Sword." That second one is on the first album and playing that behind Tom Araya singing shows how innovative they were right out the gate. If you can't tell yet, Slayer is by far my favorite metal band ever. I heard him saying before Reign in Blood he'd write solos for the songs but on Reign in Blood he started playing solos that had nothing to do with the tunes and people were saying he was still doing a great job. And he would just shrug.
@@Good-Enuff-Garage It's subjective, isn't it? I already pointed out the solos I like. If you disagree then disagree with those. Don't make me repeat myself, you child!
@@Good-Enuff-Garage Haha, you take being called a child as an insult. Okay. But proof? I just told you tastes are subjective. Do you not know what subjective means, you special child? You doofus child?
Stryper bust fucking ass, their riffs are demon slayers. Vocals that rival Sebastian Bach and their drumming doesn’t dilute the sound. It’s like Lars if he could actually keep time consistently. And their 50 years old. Idgaf what anyone says. It’s not your ears that doesn’t like their music. It’s your heart. I guess chanting over a pen to gram is somehow less weird then 4 guys loving each other. And yea you could get a limo for 50 bucks, but they spent it on Bibles. And guess what Grass withers and demonic bands fade(and flowers fade), but the Word of God endures forever. When Jesus drags Satan and his pussy ass demons into the lake of fire. Stryper will be there shredding harder than the bungee guy on Mad Max Fury Road. Love you guys, and so does Jesus. Who tf listens to Anthrax besides school shooters an dudes who got touched by perverts playing the role of a pastor. No you don’t know what it has to do with Christianity, maybe pick up the New Testament they were throwing out an find out.
Stryper is a fucking joke, lol. Background: former Christian, now atheist. Even their music was shit, lol, forget about the message. Incoming butthurt religious dorks in 3...2...1....
