These cars are not sleepers. Once the cars are started, you know what they are.

There was one of those parked on the street near me in the 60s. For some reason the owner attached 3 empty beer cans to the 3 carbs. Pretty neat.

Glad to hear those production numbers as the Maverick was a great car. Had the at the time Ford mechanical issues, but take care of it and you would get a lot of fun miles

is it really hard to find a human to narrate the video. Couldn't watch it all. Or is the whole video a failed AI attempt?

This information is wrong a lot. Z11 came out in 62 at the race track. This video doesn’t even know what year Impala their showing. Surprised they use a 62 Corvair as a Impala.

You need to learn how car guys pronounce displacement. Your 300 & 48 engine & other missed displacements are annoying.

The AI or terrible mispronouncements really ruin what would otherwise be a good video. If you are going to continue to post, you need to take care of the audio

Repeat after me: "Pon-tee-ACK!" Say it right. SAY IT RIGHT! WTF is a "Ponteek" (sic)? Is this another case of incompetent AI narration? WTH is going on here? Reloop the audio track and regain some credibility, but for now, nobody is going to watch this past the 3rd "Ponteek" because it makes the entire vid suspect...

I had a friend drop a 302 into a Mercury Comet. (a Mercury version of the Maverick) And the same guy dropped a 327 Chevy into a Gremlin. A GREMLIN! Really. They both had wrinkle walled slicks on them and could pull wheel stands. Pretty exciting stuff.

I've never read or watched a car review where the original price of the car was given in "adjusted for inflation" numbers without saying so. I'm assuming that is what the producer of the video was doing when they use the figure of $22,000. Mavericks were introduced at $1,995 in 1970. A base $1,995 Maverick would cost you about $17,000 in 2024 dollars - clearly a value back then for sure, especially when compared to the average base cost of a vehicle today. And I promise even the slowest of Mavericks could finish the quarter mile a lot faster than 60 seconds! Haha. Despite a number of errors in this video, I appreciate the Maverick content.

To each their own, but I'd have to disagree completely. While they became "throw-away" cars because of their high production numbers and low cost, they were very solidly built. I've owned one since I was 12 years old so I'm very familiar. The drive-train options were that of the first generation Mustangs which were known to be very reliable. The rest of the car featured solid body construction and very simple functions making them very dependable.

The Maverick could be owner-built into a serious performance car, but the Grabber was an appearance package only, just because something from the 60-70s rolled off the line with a V-8, mag wheels, and a snazzie name, it’s not a muscle car. They were economy cars. And I don’t remember for sure but DynonDon was running a 351C or larger rather than the base 302.

My local police department suffered with six cylinder Aspens and Volaris for several years, but things changed when the city tested a V-8 Fairmont and a Reliant K. The Fairmont won and officers were happy for a while - at least until someone decided to convert them to Propane,,,,

There was one down the street from my house for a number of years but I don't know what ever happened to it. I went into the Army and lost touch with the car. It was white with a red stripe on the hood. I think it had a 351 Cid Ford engine in it . Real pretty car and the only one in town.

I bought 72 in 1983 with a bad motor for $4,000. The body and interior were immaculate so l put a slightly (400+) more powerful engine in it. I still have it. It's never been fully restored so it almost all original. I've put over 60k miles on it and have just taken care of issues as they happened. I've done rust repairs, had the paint refreshed and some interior work done but it's never been apart. I have some Ferraris Lamborghinis and Porsche, the V-12 cars have a higher top end but the Pantera smokes them all in a drag race. To anyone else who has one don't exceed 150 mph. The rear starts to lift and there's no way l'm destroying this beautiful car with one of those huge dumbass wings!
@Dunriteproducts
@Dunriteproducts Месяц назад
Giant wings on cars like the Honda Civic are laughably stupid looking and pointless but I think a wing on the Pantera looks great actually and if it adds needed functionality then that's even better
