Hello, Mabuhay and Konnichiwa! My name is Yuu but my online handle is jaRoukaSama. I am half Filipino and half Japanese. I spent most of my life in the Philippines, so I can confidently say that I am a true Filipino at heart, but now I live in Japan! Watch this tropical gaijin navigate life in Japan, cosplay, otaku stuff, all while learning the ropes of being a new mom to happy fleshbaby and her master Seibah.
I like chocolates, food, caramel bars, food and korira-kuma, and money! Yay!d(^w^)b

Ang sad kasi kung display lang or di ko magamit. Kaya ko nga binili hehehe Pero depends din siguro sa lugar, madali kasi madumihan pag nilabas m0 sa pinas 😅
New gen congoer and tactical cosplayer here, I'll have things to add to this conversation: 1. About the part of cosplay nowadays being turned into a beauty contest of some sort, people like seeing beautiful sights, and they also want to be praised for being beautiful/cute/handsome cuz it's part of human nature, ako nga rin eh bilang lalaki gustong-gusto ko nakakakita ng mga magagandang cosplayer (I don't mean anything malicious by this), pero syempre bilang otaku alam ko na ang essence ng cosplay ay character portrayal. In the end, most of us will appreciate anyone who portrays a character faithfully no matter what their face looks like. 2. We all know that people follow trends, that's why most will cosplay characters from trending series, gacha game characters are the new trend that I observe among cosplayers. I understand why people tend to follow trends, as many of us are wired to think that if most are doing it, we ourselves should be doing it, but as a romcom and music series lover, it saddens me a bit that most cosplayers nowadays don't seem to bother digging series that are either obscure, old, or belong to a non-mainstream genre, for example, I attended a con back in July 2023, there were a lot of Oshi No Ko cosers but only 1 Love Live, no Idolmaster, no K-ON, no Bang Dream, come November 2023, the amount of Oshi No Ko cosplayers reduced to a point that it's noticeable, it's like people just follow what others do and don't strive to be different.
I don’t understand why there are people who complain about seeing a lot of the same cosplays? I remember a time when everyone was dresses as L in a con. There was also a lot of AoT/SnK cosplays too at one point. Just strange.
This was super helpful, I want to get a wig like this but I’m worried I won’t be able to use heat on it if it’s synthetic. Is this a synthetic wig? And if so where did you purchase it? :)
This costume was made way back when i didnt have a g0od camera and didnt think i would be making videos. Im planning to discuss the sleeves in part 2. I am still n0t d0ne so i haven't posted it yet. Anyway. The sleeves are made from plastic toy balls. There are holes cut up for my shoulders and arms. Then it was covered in pink stretch fabric using contact cement. Lastly, the details were hand sewn 0n. It is also hand sewn to the white bodysuit. Hope that helps!
