How can I change de default folder when login? I mean when logged in, me and friends can see the files and folders system, I don't want that, someone can delete them by mistake. I would like to have an empty folder, lets says "share". Any advice will be so much appreciated
my backups fail, looking at the log, it says permissions denied, although I followed the instructions closely. things are a little different as mine is bit newer than when the vid was made. but i'm sure my setting are like for like. I had a look at the permission part of the vid, and I see no difference really.
@Noted followed your walkthru, however when i attempted to create a backup i get a "permission denied" error - "INFO: tar: /mnt/pve/SynologyNAS/dump/vzdump-lxc-107-2024_06_26-12_45_05.tmp: Cannot open: Permission denied" however, if i use the pve shell and manually browse to /mnt/pve/SynologyNAS i can read and write to the NFS share, so not sure what the issue is? i can also see that pve has been able to write log files into the dump folder, so it has permissions to do that.
Hi, I found your tutorial very interesting. I face a situation here.. I also use porkbun, however, my ISP will rotate IPs when I reboot my router or maybe under other circumstances. How do you deal with Porkbun and selfhosting home services and several subdomains? Thanks
This is a self-hosted podcast client, not server. Yes, it's self-hosted and yes, technically, you can forward your files to your device but this can't be used as a source for a podcast for others to find
Would realy have enjoyed to donate money for this, but as the host for the "written guide" is not reachable (anymore - at least now) I dondt dare to trust the donation info (might be outdated as well).
Everything worked without giving me an error feedback but if I click on the link Published Ports bookstack link I get redirected to another IP/Port with nothing
This is by far one of my favorite self-hosted services now. Got the full Wikipedia database @ around 102GB. I can't get over how insanely cool it is that I literally have all of Wikipedia on my own hardware.
I want to add my synology nas so that my containers can access content there. For example Sonarr, I want it to access my TV Shows share on Synology. However, when I attempt to add via SMB or NFS, its asking for a content type... and I don't want to choose one. So what is the best method to add these without selecting any special content type?
@Noted When I try to request a cert, I get a Internal error on nginx. I have nginx running on Synology. I don't have access to my router and this cant do port forwarding etc. So the idea was to use Cloudflare.
I dont knof if its because of the theme being installed or if it is my version 8.1.4 but, if you click the drop down at "root(at)pam" in the top right there is a "themes" option and there was a dark mode there. Just with the install i still had white graphs, after the drop down it was all black.
Good video. Im new and kind of a novice to this but when I set this up I will get a web address and if someone goes there will hear the station on Auto DJ! How would I go live?
how about using the CF cert for your domain when you do NOT want to expose anything to the internet? I just want trusted certs on all my internal devices and not rely on self signed. I tried to generate an origin cert and upload to NPM, and using a private IP DNS record. Workflow wise this works, but my browser doesn't like it, I probably messed something up. Is there any way to accomplish this (I'm not even a fan of the tunnel option for just myself), without having to setup my whole CA in house?
I know its been a couple of years now but thanks a ton for this video! I was so lost trying to complete setup and I was constantly making things more complicated than they needed to be. I gave it an honest try but your video did the job, thank you.
Great stuff!!! @Noted any tips on Uptime-Kuma monitoring containers on Synology via remote DockerHost (TCP/HTTP)? There is option for it on Kuma's Settings, under docker hosts, but not sure how to expose it from Syno
Did all the steps listed and still can't access my Synology NAS. I keep getting 502 error from Cloudflare page. I don't know if is my Firewalla that is blocking something but I even allowed anything and still same issue
