One of the many reasons I made Colorado my home. Now if I could just figure out how to get some beachfront property that has some surfable waves here I'll be set!! ;). 🤙
Just came across this video. Excellent documentary on your struggles with addiction and the lost neighborhood of Swansea. You are truly blessed to have come out of the darkness via the stories you tell through your excellent photography. Our sincerest condolences to hear about the passing of your father. Stay on your path and never let go of your camera.
6-8-2024. I just drove that section as I live in Delta and was moving back with a uhaul and a vehicle transport. It's great having the bypass and not have an additional 6 hours added to the 14 hours I just drove. My suggestion is that slow down the pilot vehicles. It was like a mad max scene with rocks flowing into wind shields, huge clouds of dust engulfing vehicles. People unfamiliar with driving dirt roads. Their rear ends fish tailing. Sections washboarded. I watched 3 suv's literally tail gate a semi. People told me my suv on the trailer was bouncing tires inches up into the air. I am grateful for the bypass. Just slow the traffic a bit for everyone.
We lived on the mountain thru the 1970’s until 1981-82 at Rancho Tranquilo and later El Nido, Charles was our neighbor and took me to the spaceship on occasion, happy to do it, Charles and his family lived in a home next to the Spaceship property so it was usually easy to find him. That was really something as an elementary/junior high school kid. Quite the history, nice to see his visions are still being honored. Would be awesome to see it again some day. Thanks Charles, Thanks to the Winklers for keep’n it alive. D. Anderson.
Would it be inappropriate to say that this fellow might’ve become a geologist in order to lick things that are rockhard? Would that be crossing a line?
Maybe somebody should introduce geologists to damp cloths or wet rags. On the other hand, these guys would be really useful anytime there’s a need for cleanup in aisle five.
When i was born my background consisted of five ethnic groups, three white two native,i can't identify with any of them beacause I'm mixed in the wrong order,i am an example of what the government tried to do to the Native American when the government was urging them to leave the reservations hoping that down the road you would wind up like me , mixed breeds so you could lose your identity as Native Americans don't ever trust the government.
The porosity reduction in sedimentary shales is due to pressure solution of quartz. Proved in (Google) "Proposed Model for Shale Compaction Kinetics", where activation energies and temperature profiles are deduced for six known porosity profiles of thick sections.
these land grab schemes are becoming very prevalent in the 2020s from China buying farmland to irac exploiting water resources farming alfalfa in Arizona
If you're on the fence about getting a membership to the Nature & Science Museum (old name was better), just remember that at least once a year they'll let you go and poke around through the vaults, photographing or sketching stuff pretty much at your leisure. Unfortunately even members don't get to lick the rocks, despite how delectable some specimens appear :.(
The way some beautiful architectural buildings in the springs got torn down was just sad especially considering how much work the founders and what not put into making the springs a beautiful city
Wow...I just have one question: what is the pH of the outlet water...if it is said to be alkaline, it has to be on average at a Ph of 10-13...But what is the pH of the water after the process? Is it neutral, ph 7?
So many urban legends . Willard didn’t have a broken jaw, teeth, cheekbone, etc. In fact, he was fine in a few days. Moreover, he was not a heavy favorite going into the bout. He was a slight favorite.
Don't lick rocks in the field unless you know for sure what you are licking. Carry a water bottle always. Use it to wet a surface. Safety first for those that may not recognize poison such as cinnabar or arsenopyrites.
Well I am glad you are preserving these washing machines .so future generations can have an idea what was involved washing clothes in earlier times .like before automatic washing machines in the 1950's. But I am also glad we dont do laundry with wash boards hand powered, gasoline powered, ringer washing machines. I am a boomer 72 years old. All my life I have only used automatic washing machines. Also only when was a grade school kid did we do laundry while I was growing up my methodes older than wash and wear clothes washing machines and dryers with speciall cycles Starting in 1963 I think it was.
