My name is Thomas N. Perkins IV and I am an Emmy Award winning artist working in the animation industry for television and film since 1997. I greatly enjoy creating odd folks for strange worlds, as can be seen in my body of work. I have worked for such animation studios as Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network, Bento Box Entertainment, Film Roman / Starz Animation, Columbia Tri Star Television, Porchlight Entertainment, and ImagiUS Animation to name a few.

I’ve done mixed media where I go back and forth between digital/traditional in terms of inking and coloring and have never made the switch to tablet drawing… but MAN seeing you use the tablet as a light box for traditional tracing has me sold. Phenomenal work!
I’ve always wondered how you did your line art, weight and what not And, boy, watching you do it in real time…I’m still scratching my head Do you have any specific rules you follow when doing line art? Certain areas you put thicker and thinner lines at?
I don't know if the additional contrast between the skin colours was intentional or if those were simply the shades of pen you had, but I think Braindrain looks even cooler on paper!! The cement-grey skin and silver hair help the muscle fibres and green energies 'pop' that much more - sells the idea that his soul is significantly livelier than his body⚡ Thrilling art as always!!
Seeing the process of your work is nothing short of amazing. You had a great hand in my childhood shows, and in my desire to get into art, a great inspiration to us all. And I’m sure many others feel the same way as well. You had an effect on many that echoed through the decades, Mr. Perkins, and no one can take that away from you.
@@tnperkins4art oh I thought that’s what you said any way when I listened to… LOLs I was just repeating with enthusiasm and didn’t even realize that’s not what was said 🤣🤣 Love these little cartoons
I don't think I've ever seen anyone combine the Fantasy and Superhero genres quite like this before and, with how seamless it is, I'm surprised that I haven't 😲 the colouring and lighting on the magic user, the texturing of the paladin's energy equipment, the glossy finish on the creature (and the crude 'A' symbol on their chest fur), even the negative space representing an eldritch unknown... well done once again, sir!
excuse me mr perkins, decade-long fan here, i have a question about your art. your "glossy" style, with the bold black/dark colors and the shine lines that adorn them, are extremely unique in the art world (as least as far as i have seen). what exactly is your inspiration for this part of your art? what lead to you drawing the shine so prominently in your art? you can be as thorough in your answer as youd like, i am also an artist and would be delighted to find new inspiration. thank you in advance you legend
Watching the art come to life is even cooler than the art itself! Loved spotting the detail that certain parts had their black outlines changed to pink - and the glowing watch with your initials is ingenious! I recall you having redrawn some of your old concept art for Eye Guy and Benvicktor a few years back - since this is a Part 1, I wonder if we may see you redraw (or perhaps even reinvent?) your preliminary work on Upchuck and Benwolf? Always a treat to see your druthers :)
Excellent Tom! I love your braindrain drawing! One day, if I can, will my wish of designing a sludgepuppy transformation for Ben come true? I love your design!
He wasn’t scrapped as far as I am aware, it was just never implemented beyond a name drop, I think. My take on him was done when Derrick and I used to play around with unused aliens.
