These credits hit different than the rest. Unlike halo 1 and 2, these give you a sense of accomplishment and closure. It's almost bitter sweet. Obviously, part of it is because it's the end of the original trilogy, but these even the reach credits, in my opinion, dont have the same level of emotions as this one. While reach was bungies official goodbye, halo 3 was where they originally wanted to end things, and i feel like these credits do a phenomenal job at showcasing that by giving you that feeling of, this is it this is the end, but in a good way. I dont know i just felt like rambling on about this. Halo 3 will always be my favorite game of the franchice, and i thank everyone that worked on not just this but all lf bungies halo games as they were a big part of my childhood, and i dont think i would have enjoyed my childhood as much as i did without these games. Thank you to the (original) bungie team for creating this masterpiece of a franchise.
Revisiting this game after 20 years to see if I still thought it was a steaming pile compared to the first one. It’s better than I gave it credit for as a teen, but the first red faction is still superior in every way. Thanks for helping me through this mission! Never would have remembered to come up from under it like that. 😅
There must have been some update where there is sometimes 2 grenades that come at the same time and grenades can come during the missile phases. Also there is now a sniper after the second set of missiles. I beat the game about 10 times or so on realistic, but now it is just RNG if the grenades don't come at the wrong time. The grenades can come even when all of the enemies are cleared out and the grenades can split up on either side of the player, making survival impossible for that attempt.
There are several grenades during the fight and some are easily survivable (even when 2, if they are near enough to each other) , but the grenades during the missile phase often forces death if they go were the player needs to go as there is no time to find an other safe spot in time.
I just beat the game on realistic a day ago after the last message, tried it again later and the same RNG issues. So the difficulty is based on the amount of RNG impasses, so if you can only win say 1 in 10 it seem hard but if you can win 9 in 10 it seem easy, even with the same level of player game play.
Don't get me wrong, you still need a certain level of skill to beat the game, it is just that you need high enough skill and luck or just brute attempts (high amount) to beat the final scene.
I just beat the game on realistic again, and I noticed that every time I won, I did not get attacked by the sniper. The sniper can be seen on the map as a enemy and is a large part of the RNG. I looked many times but can't see the sniper to kill it. The sniper is very deadly because I have gotten killed several times, just by peeking around the corner for less than a second. I know that it was a sniper because of the characteristic loud single shot of NPC sniper rifles in the game.
'We have not yet managed to make contact with the aliens, we do not know whether their intentions are peaceful or violent, but we have dubbed them The Ravagers'. Wow, really pre-judging there. And then as soon as the aliens land, they take rocket launchers to the face. Even then, when they swarm around the player character, the worst they do is gently push him. Guys, I think their intentions were peaceful, and humanity just started an intergalactic war for no reason.

honestly these controls look horendus i hope that if this ever does get ported they just give it the regulare overlord control sceme (and then i mean overlord 1 and 2 not the diablo shit we later got)
bro that main menu is the entire reason i remember this game as a kid, i'd just sit there and navigate the main menu on the demo and occasionally play the game
I finished Bioshock for the first time yesterday. I didn't know any spoilers and got the good ending. When the violin kicked in, I just started crying. Amazing game that left a lasting impression.
Another one of those "A Winner Is You" type of endings that's just simple and ridiculous. I read a lot about people who put a lot of hours into playing a video game, only to get a simple screen that says "CONGRATULATIONS!" if you were to play Donkey Kong Land on the Game Boy. Considering my father played this game on the PS3 he has (which is a slimline PS3 after our "retro" model bought the farm in late 2013), he would've played this game for days, beat it, and see the ending and be rather disappointed.
