Great movie, great song. This was the best duet of Connie and Harve Presnell featured in 'When the boys meet the girls'. Harve also sings the classic 'Embrace Me' and, literally, brings the house down. He was more of a stage artiste and a humongous talent. He first graced the screen with Debbie Reynolds in the hit 'The Unsinkable Molly Brown' and rendered a commendable performance. Debbie's titular character was Oscar worthy. Luckily, I have a copy of the DVD at home and enjoy this movie several times over.
How impressive and well conducted!!! Thank you for posting. A recent biography, "Beyond the Handsomeness" of Thomas Schippers has been published in the United States by Universal-Publishers and is available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and others.

I just came across this while scrolling. I’ve never heard of this gentleman but he was singing one of my favorite songs from my childhood. My parents took me to see How the West was Won at a fabulous theater in Detroit when I was young. This haunting melody was featured in the movie. I think I heard it once again in a movie that starred Jimmy Stewart. It has never left me. It is one of my favorite melodies.
He has an amazing voice. I was born in Mexico and came here at 7 yoa. My mom taught me to appreciate American music. This is an incredible example of excellence. It reminds me of my mom!
