I use CorelDraw and I use it much better than Illustrator and even better I can still export for Illustrator for someone not familiar with Coreldraw. Can still export to basically any format available even MS Word...
Just wanted you to know, my first Graphic Design software and experience are with Gimp. I started using them back in 2009-2010. It was crazy. Made lots of projects with it, comics, animation, poster, drawings, editing my emo photos.. i even memorized the shortcuts. Then i took a graphic design class in 2013. They used photoshop. The only thing i remember doing is clicking on File > New. And drew a circle. I don't understand shits. 🤣 I gave up halfway and spend the whole class using gimp. In 2015 i had to do practical training. My friends forced me to join them being a graphic designer instead of a videographer/scriptwriter/storyboarder (which i was quite expert with). I remember the first day. Clicking File > New. And a circle.. and.. a square.. a text.. photos, texture, bg.. and so on and so on . And on that first day, without tutorial, i made my first poster with photoshop. I mastered them in just a few hours. And it was iMac! I got a cup as a gift by my boss because he said my poster is beautiful. Since then I'm a graphic designer. And at 2020 October, i learned Illustrator for the first time. I never went back to Gimp. That first practical day changed my life. Photoshop shortcut makes more sense and is easier to remember. Thanks to my twin for always hyping me up.
