Genius, thank you so much. Just brought a new to me Sequoia home today and this exact air vent was shaky. It's my most used air vent so it was driving me nuts. Figured I had to tighten the prongs but didn't think about the shrink tubing. Genius. I have some in the toolbox. Thank you thank you 6 years later, lol.
I can’t believe I waited this long to Google how to fix my freaking air vents!!!! Thanks for the video always somebody out there willing to put in the man hours.!
Just when you think you’re the only one with a problem, there’s always someone. Thanks for this video. I’ve been dealing with that same vent and didn’t realize that tab came off.
Thank you for posting this ....I followed your advice and my pin also had corrosion in the same place but I had an additional problem and it was a sunken pin that I had to lift up with a fine tweezer....now my fitbit blaze is charging again ....thanks
Hi Rich, thanks for your video its very helpful… but I don’t know how to take apart the lower part (the part with no screw attached), seems there’s clip hold em inside and its hard to pull off, any sugestion? Thanks anyway
i have a Ford Explorer 2016 and I have same problem with all ceilings a/c vents, they are loose and each ac vent cost $30 dlls as minimum, and I'll need 4, so im trying to figure out how fix it to get a tight movement, if U have some idea or tinny piece Plz let me know. Thks for Ur vi
What is that flap at 2:42 and what is it used for? My led Christmas tree has lights on the top and bottom that aren’t out, but are flickering. No matter what I do, the same bulbs keep flickering and even flicker after turning the tree off.
The flap is a lock to prevent the bulb from falling out. It’s sort of like a latch. Our tree has a flicker mode, but it doesn’t sound like that’s the case with yours. I am assuming the issue relates to your on / off switch, probably worn out. If it were mine, I’d unplug the tree and I’d see if was possible to the on /off box, maybe it has bent contacts that aren’t quite making full contact and you just need to straighten them, or if there is oxidization, rough them up with sandpaper. Total guess here
Rich, After FINALLY getting the thing apart I found the blue hook part is actually broken. How did you fix it again? I heard you say polyethylene, but can you give a little more details?
our is red very good and the blue pop up is a little broken some time it goes down and it keeps getting stuck but it's still worked and we had for 12 years
I am having the same issue with my 2007 Toyota Tundra. I ordered some 5/32 black shrink wrap to hopefully fix this issue. A new louver costs close to $100.00 to purchase and ship from a Toyota dealership. According to the video you use two flat head screwdrivers to remove the clip. Thanks for the video!
it was a while ago but i took two small screw drivers and just popped it off. It is designed to pop off. Watch how I install it and you can see no tools required. Just be careful and take your time.
Thank you so much for this video! Mine started charging again immediately after cleaning the inside contacts. I’m absolutely thrilled that I don’t need to buy a new Fitbit right now. 😊 I had to buy the T3 Torx screwdriver on Amazon. We couldn’t find one locally.
This fix worked perfectly on my 2008 Sequoia. I put the heat shrink tubing on just one side and had the problem fixed within 10 minutes. Works like a charm. Now I know how to fix the other vents if they start doing the same thing. Thanks for the quick and easy hack. It saved me having to buy a new vent, which runs about $80.00 online.
Just wanted to say thanks. It worked like a charm. Getting the vent toggles off is the hardest part. 5/32 shrink rap cut to fit did the job. Whole thing cost me 5 bucks and 20 minutes of my time.
Hoping mine is this simple. Having an issue where all of a sudden the screen went black and when you put it on the charger now, it just shows The logo intermittently between a black screen and logo. We’ll see, but good simple video. Thanks
