paying for continued updates on a old operating system is not a new thing. this happened to windows 7 for bushiness that needed to use the operating system for compatibility reasons. they announced that in 2025 they would do this when window 11 was released.
The hardware requirements are pure nonsense. Windows 11 also works on older pcs PCs the setup just blocks older pcs But if you turn off the check, it works on many more computers, but you have to update manually every two years but there is no guarantee from Microsoft that this will continue to work in the future.
yeah just update your business to win11 - never mind that your businesses' hardware is probably unsupported for windows 11 and you'll need to upgrade your pc's. and of course windows 11 is so different under the hood from windows 10 it must be so difficult for them to support (hint it is not). then keep in mind with windows 12 'just around the corner' the current suspicion is that it will need a higher level hardware support to enable the Ai features it is anticipated to have baked into the OS.
The only device I use Linux on is the steam deck, for that thing it's good, but even that extremely user friendly version has some major problems for the average Joe when you're in desktop mode, so no, Linux is not the awnser for everything
@@SamsungMiller_2024 No, android is based off of Linux, he's right, same with macOS, also based on Linux, but they somehow managed to make it a lot worse than your average Linux distro
Anyone that does this stuff is a universe-sized idiot. What happens if you burn your face, get a cut on your finger, burn your finger, or lose your hand/finger in an accident? And those are just the obvious scenarios.
Don't forget that every single one of these features is powered by experimental AI that has been rushed out the door since the release of ChatGPT, along with cloud storing your data. Staying on Windows 10.
To everyone here who doesn't want all this Windows bullshit and doesn't want to switch to Linux, the only choice is to use Windows 10 LTSC. I can't explain in detail what it is right now so search it out yourself, it's amazing and it's the only Windows anyone should use (tho everyone should switch to Linux but whatever). Anyways, LTSC only has security updates which aren't forced and it comes with no bloatware preinstalled, just simply Windows without any bullshit. It has also many other advantages like a lower telemetry setting not available on consumer Windows. It's what Windows was in the 7 days, it's just how Windows 10 should have been for all consumers. check it out!! (But please also consider using Linux since it's an undoubtly better option).
