A place to share my interests and hobbies. Veggie gardening, chickens, cross-stitch, crochet and vintage Pyrex collecting. And also my cat makes regular appearances.
Well not much stitching to make videos on I’m sorry to tell you. I still have all my supplies and stuff but rarely pick up a needle. My passion has shifted to the garden and chickens for the time being. But you never know what the future may hold :) thanks for watching none the less 😊
Loving your garden Claire!! I am having difficulty with my capsicum too! Maybe it’s not this the season this year? 🥰 can’t wait to hear all about the chickens! ❤️
My mother had the four Cinderella nesting bowls. I expect she got them in around 1971. We used them to death of course. I think when we move to the apartment with the dishwasher they started to dull.
yes this is a gorgeous floor stand , but in Canada its really pricey like $599.99 plus shipping and taxes. on my wish list. prices in 2023. awesome video truly.
Wow, I only just watched this video for the first time. Thank you so much for the shout out (made me tear up, as I really wanted to be there to meet you all 😢). Looks like you had so much fun and all those finished pieces look amazing! Congrats on your well deserved win - Gypsy Queen is so beautiful 😍. Are you going to the next retreat Claire?… would love to meet you and make up for missing out on this one 🙁
I just bought a scroll frame similar to yours, just not as customizable as yours. But I have a question I'm hoping you'll have a good technique for. How do you start stitches and end them on this instrument? Do you twist it 180 degrees every time or is there a trick and an easier way to do it?
So glad to find your tutorial. This is exactly what I want to do. Excellent demo. Thank you. Also love your choice up cheerful, fun colors. Really very cute and a great keepsake for the recipient of this custom card.
Beware of those bobbin # stickers, over time the adhesive on the back dries up and the sticker falls off. You are left with a drawer full of bobbins with no numbers on them.
Wonderful system. Too bad I didn’t find this sooner. I already invested in an expensive system. I think I will use this system for my specialty floss (silk and hand dyed). Thanks so much for sharing it. It’s brilliant.
Thank you! I did *indeed* find that useful. I'm using just tiny bits for snowflakes that I want to pop and look frosty. It does handle that aspect but my work has looked a bit lumpy on both the front and the back. I will use your techniques and I think I can get the result I really envisioned when I bought the satin floss. Thanks again and your work is beautiful!
Wow! This frame is amazing. I’m new to cross stitch, working on my first small project. It’s really fun. One day I would love to try to do a big project like you. Do you have any recommendations for frames, hoops, and supplies for beginners?
I just discovered your channel and went to download your DMC numbers from Stitch Maynia Group and it seems to be gone, is there any way to still get the pdf file. I thought your system was a great idea. Thanks
Thanks so much Claire for this video. Greetings from Gold Coast Qld. If people are watching this in 2021, like I am, they may find it difficult to get Thread Heaven. New product is Thread Magic (same, maybe better) widely available in Aus and USA etc.
Thread Heaven isn’t made anymore. The current equivalent is Thread Magic that I actually like a bit better. I rarely get tangled floss because I use it on every thread. Because it prevents tangling so well, I can use longer lengths of floss so less threading needles which is always a plus.
DLC Jewel effects threads are rough and horrible to see with. I normally use Krenik blending thread 2 to 1 cotton strand mix but becoming hard to find. Recently, brought Oasis rayon threads it works better in one strand equivalent to 2 strand cotton. Sadly, Thread Heaven is now discontinued replaced with Thread magic. Doing some research damp sponge or Vaseline can be used instead. I admit I brought rayon thread for the shine.
so this is the lady behind those beautiful MIRABILIA cs designs, and she is beautiful herself, i have finished some of her designs and really gave me headaches to complete.
I just found this! Loved the interview, hearing her creative process. Many ideas I have wondered about have answered my questions about Nora's designs. The Mirabilia Minions Retreat in San Antonio, May 2018 was a dream come true for me. For any stitchers who are fortunate enough to go to one of her retreats I would give a caveat. There is a clique of stitchers that go to these retreats, similar to the cheerleaders in Junior High School or Senior High School. If you are not part of their "clique" you will be excluded. Nora Corbett is VERY CONGENIAL. She is so generous with one to one time with each person who approaches her wanting some conversation, wanting to have a photo taken with her. She will sign your patterns. She had beautiful, one of a kind artwork for auction. It was wonderful to meet her & to be there.
