When he calls his wife, it never rings. She just gets a notification, "missed call, from Angel Hernandez." ...Yes, I know I'm years late, but I just thought of this joke. And yes, I'm sure it's been said before.
What a sad day for Baseball ..... the Loathsome Dodgers - who abandoned Dad and the Faithful of Ebbets Field in Brooklyn NY .... against the hated Boston red sux ...... no winner here.
How many still like to come back to this to get a laugh? Schwarber showing the strike zone that Angel apparently sees is the funniest to me. And jomboy filled in the lip reading. So I know exactly what he was saying. It is complete horse sh*t!
4:57 Before this game, Tony Kemp signed a ball for me. I think my mind, although great memories, wants to forget when the Astros were behind. Which they were for most of it. But I do remember him signing my ball and therefore his terrific play later on. Yes the audio isnt extrene you could hear the Crawford Boxes clear as day.
I was behind 1st base. Brantley’s double play will easily be the best defensive play by a player in an Astros uniform EVER. I’ve been to a lot of games at MMP and this was the most electric it’s EVER been. I was there for yordan’s walk off against the mariners and game 6 of the 22 WS. It has never been more electric than in that moment
I remember when this happened. I was in a bad place and was inspired by his story. I ended up in rehab maybe a year after this and remember my mom giving me his book as she dropped me off. I played baseball all my life and she knew the book would resonate with me. I read it 4 or 5 times while in there. It kept me from giving up and walking out the door more than once. I hate that he ended up falling off the wagon after he retired. Haven't heard anything about him in awhile but I hope he got back on track.
I'll leave this here. The Dodgers/Yankees were cheating in 2017. That's why both the Astros and Dodgers were changing signs every AB in the WS. Logan Morrison "I know from first hand accounts that the Yankees, Dodgers, Astros, and Red Sox all have used film to pick signs," Dallas Keuchel "during the course of the playoffs in `17, everybody was using multiple signs,” Joey Votto "The idea that they (the Astros) were the only one doing something wrong just baffles me." Lucas Giolito “Based on everything I’ve heard, it was like all the teams that were in the postseason that year were doing the same shit" Chris Sale "If the Astros were the only team doing it, then yeah. Give it back. Take it back. I know for a fact they weren’t,” Steven Souza “I’m not going to get into to all that but you should know that if you think Houston was the only team with a sign stealing system you’re dead wrong.” Chris Bassitt "...Houston was not the only team doing stuff... one team essentially got caught doing it -- or was the guinea pig of doing it to clean the whole entire league up" Josh Reddick "I was there, so theres my proof" Kris Bryant "Absolutely not. I definitely think others were." Josh Donaldson "Please don’t forget if you were a Yankees/Red Sox fan, none of your guys are (Hall of Famers) because both of them got caught using Apple watches before the Astros got caught.” Erik Kratz “I can tell you that a team that has been to the World Series often recently, we caught them doing something almost similar. The Colorado Rockies were doing the exact same thing in 2018…They used to take a Theragun and bang it on their metal bench. They were doing the exact same thing.” Will Clark “How can I put this mildly? They got caught. All the rest of us, we didn’t get caught." Mike Scott "The Mets used Cameras to zoom in on the signs in real time" There's no proof saying astros cheated im 2019, only rabid fan's and their speculation.
As a starter, being taken out of the game after throwing 2 hit ball over 6 & 1/3rd feels very disappointing, and frustrating. I can see it in his walk back to the dugout. I've made that walk, albiet not on a major league field 😂.
Kyle Schwarber went ape sh*t when he knew that was a walk and I don’t blame him. I have no personal beef with Angel Hernandez and he seems like a chill dude, but we all know he’s the worst umpire that has ever officiated the game of baseball.
