This channel is going to be to document the process of restoring my T25 multi van. I have acquired one that's in pretty bad shape and hope to get it back on the road and looking like a camper-van within a year. It has sat standing out in the elements and not moved for the past 20 years!!
I have no prior knowledge on how to do anything to the van, so i'll be learning everything from other you tube creators! Wish me luck!
i didnt actually do anything, well not what I had planned to do and it stopped leaking and the washers started working lol gotta love these old vans :)
I think you've mounted the mirrors onto the bars upside down / inside out than the way they're intended to be mounted. The tightening nut should be on the inside, the van side, and the mirror should sit further out. Was that intentional?
the nut to secure the mirror is already located on the housing and that was closest to the van, so made sense (and according to the instructions) to fit the bolt through from away from the van. there are a few different versions of these mirrors though, maybe others fit different? i will have a look when i'm next at the van but pretty sure it was the only way for this to be fitted.
@@oldmanad After I wrote my comment, I did some image searching and now think you've got it right - sorry. 95% of buses in photos seem to have them fitted that way around. I've got an LT as well and that has them the other way around, which is why I thought they didn't look right on yours, but they are right! Great video - thank you, and happy vanning :)
Just received my new mirrors this week from bus depot in the states. Going to put them on tomorrow. I’m so excited. After watching your video I think I can manage. Ty they look great on your van! ✌️
thanks for the comment! it is a fairly easy job to do. I am a complete beginner at this stuff and it only took me about 30 mins to do. Only scary bit is drilling into your van lol
hi there. in the end i had to put in a new fuel sender and new temp sender. bit of a co incidence them both failing but since doing so they both work fine (well as fine as the fuel gauge can work!)

Nice work Ad! Started up great and sounds really good man. strange the coolant didnt get past the thermostat. Just wondering if its the right coolant? I always have to use the blue stuff in my old bangers (apparently you cant mix them either) but I dont know a ton about that stuff though tbh. Also, I've seen a few people lightly tap the Stat housing with a hammer to nudge it open when warm which might help. Are you going to do the welding yourself?

I did research and it seems i need the G12 (pink) coolant for the van, so hoping it is right lol But having done a bit more research it appears the thermostat works differently on the van, letting cooler water back into the engine, as opposed to letting hot water out. So the pipe I was feeling was the return pipe and should be cooler. (maybe someone will correct me if i'm wrong) as for the welding... nope... not got any welding skills at all! lol Have hopefully found someone to do it thats not too far away, will find out in a week or 2 about that.
